I have an XL batt that only works when you blow from the LED end to get it started which also lights the LED. You can then suck normally for one toke from the carto but then you need to repeat the process. If you continuosly blow through the LED you get lots of vapour coming out of the carto?

Have you ever experienced this strange phenomenon?

That's a stuck switch for sure Ethereal sir, killed one of my early autos by getting some juice in it and it acted the same way.... Tried soaking it in alcohol (just the connector, standing straight up), sadly that didn't work. Snow sir had a fix that required some tools, when I get home will search for it.... :)

Thanks Morandir. I've got some tools, hopefully the right ones. Worth a shot. :)

All the XL autos I have can be activated by blowing on the LED end whether defective or not. Some that are malfunctioning can be jump started in this manner for a hit or two, but the process, as stated, must be repeated. An engineer that used to be in here told me that the auto batt action in these newer batts are activated by a microphone type circuit that detects the air flow sound when taking a drag as uposed to the original style of mechanical action. Whatever the current technology is, it sucks (no pun intended). They only work reliably for a very short period before malfunctioning. I like auto batts but they've become too unreliable.
