I have always charged them in with a phone charger
Charging within the mod is not really recommended here at ECF. It is doable, but so many problems can be avoided if you charge your external batteries in a charger- outside of the mod. They are some really good chargers for around $20 especially this time of year.

Thank you. People have told me to do that but it's was working for good amount of time. Lol so Idk if your familiar with the tesla three but if I put my fireluke 50w-100w on it would it be functional and or reasonable?
You could use the 150 or 240 Tesla 3 with the Fireluke. Do you have wire and wick or a drop in coil?

Do you have batteries for that mod?

What topper were you using on the Alien? If you have batteries(other than the ones we are discussing) then why can't you use the same topper on the Tesla that you used on the the alien?

All the box says is tesla3. It's a 150w max out put. It has 2 inner Lipo batteries. All it has is a fire button. No customization settings. I'm sorry I don't know my own stuff you guys are awesome
Is this the mod you have?

Tesla Three Box Mod | PVs & Mods | VaporBeast

These are internal batteries so charge them up and put the same topper that was on the alien onto the tesla

never mind ---just saw your last posting.

Funny smell with the screen problem could be the board. Unless the liquid smelled. Motherboards stink sometimes when they fail. If it were me I wouldn't use it.

If it were me, I would buy new batteries(and an external charger) and a new mod and take the old ones to the vape shop and let them have a look.

If it was only the board failing, I would think that it just would not work anymore. And the batteries would not do anything. But the batteries heating up along with the smell is what bothers me. It could be the batteries fried the board.

Yes, it could be the batteries... But it's possible the batteries toasted the mod as well. Get more batteries (and an external charger) and a vape shop would be a good place to take them to test them. But, you are set vaping for now, with an internal battery mod that you have to charge via USB anyway, so Christmas is saved, and you can take your time with the rest of it.

Glad you were able to find a workaround. :)

I would agree with everyone's suggestion, recylce the batteries and I would retire the Alien.

Spend the next 2 days shopping for replacements online.

Lesson learned, have backups. Then have backups for those.

I have 13 18650s, 3 20700, 2 chargers and 4 mods. I stress not having another regulated sqonk. If I had been in your shoes I would have been seriously stressed.

So I have a Smok Alien 220 TC. I've had it for about a year, no issues. I was just laying on my bed and went to take hit and noticed the screen was getting very dim. Then I noticed a very strange chemical smell. It started to heat up so I automatically just ejected the two batteries out of it. When I inspected the batteries it seemed there was moisture on the batteries. Didn't seem as if it came out of the batteries. My guess as it's condensation. So I haven't put the batteries back in to see what happens, probably need new batteries if the whole things isn't broke. But I would appreciate any advice ad to what people think Is wrong or any advice. Thank you
Welcome and glad you joined.
I have provided a little more information which might help evaluating/safety of batteries.
