Hi there folks!

I'm contemplating getting a cheap but decent mechanical mod. It'll be mainly for home use with AGA, and for making coils for my smaller atties, as well as dripping to test my DIY juices. I'd like it to be battery flexible (18350/18650), so telescopic or modular would be nice.

I've looked at smok Telescope, K100, and a few others. Most of them seem to have a very long switch, kind of defeating the purpose of putting a tiny 18350 battery in it.

So, what would you recommend? Cheap/short/relatively dependable?

Thank you!

I am not sure of how cheap you are looking to go but the Smok Natural is a telescopic tube MOD and only $52.99 at discountvapers.

I seem to have skipped that range. I have 20-30 dollar mech mods and 90+ mech mods.

I did get my legacy for 65 shipped from the classies though, that's something to look out for. Hell of a US made stainless mod.

Here's a budget telescope I know some people on here have, I see it listed elsewhere as the excalibur for 40 dollars, there's probably a thread about it somewhere you can dig up.

Tec Mod Telescope

Also, people love their Chi-Chi's and the Natural flat top looks pretty nice.

Yep, that was my first mechanical mod. I actually love it except for the extremely long lock threading. I also have a chi chi that I don't care for as much, though many do absolutely love them.

I wonder -- how close to a mech mod is this: http://www.carolinavapes.com/Flat-Controller-for-Joyetech-eGo-T-Upgrade-18650-Battery-MOD_p_254.html ?
Or rather, do you guys know what the amp limit is to it? Would it blow up unpleasantly at, say, .8 ohm resistance?

It's not a mech mod though you have the option of going unregulated with it. I would guess it's non functional below 1.5ohms. Joye doesn't make anything good for high amps and I don't mean that as a knock. On the plus side, with a thread adapter, you can charge it in the tube.

It basically just makes a big ego-c battery.

Thank you! As purty as it is, the 1.5 ohm limitation makes it a no-no for me :( My Aga is usually around .8 and the coils for my A7 are about 1.3.

Hmm, looks like the Natural it is. K100 looks very pretty, but with a big fat AGA on top it would look silly I think. And would likely fall over a lot.

I'd wait a little while, save up a bit and get something nice. You won't regret it. You'll might be using it for a very long time. For 100$ you can get a Gus or similar, really small, really nice, happy days.

I would generally agree with you on this, but this will be mainly a battery holder for making coils and occasional vaping at home. My all day vape is a Reo, so if I were to save up and buy something nice, it would be another Reo :)
