Do some of your 510 threaded tanks end up with a gap between the top of the mod and the bottom of the tank?
Thats what the beauty ring / removeable top is for; not really to remove the top but just to unscrew it upward to meet the bottom of the tank snugly

Yes, stability and strengthens the weak area. Anybody that has lost a Spinner type batt to pocket carry will know this. It will help a great deal to limit potential damage if you drop your unit too.
