Hi everyone, this will be my first post. Im new to the whole e cig idea. I am currently using mistic e cig, and I dont enjoy the taste at all. I think it tastes like levi snuff. After puffing on it a few times it seems to die to where no vapor likes to come out at all, and it leaks a lot into my mouth while puffing on it. I know its cheap and i get what I pay for. So thats why i have decided to join this forum and ask for some suggestions before i spend so much on another e cig that isnt all that great. I am looking for something that gives off alot of vapor, and good feeling in the throat just like a real cigarette. And I am looking for something that tastes alot like one, and not like snuff. I also want one that looks like a cigarette (as in size, and shape, maybe a black battery with a blue light) I was looking at the blu brand but then read some reviews on this site and it doesnt sound like a path i would like to go down. And i read on top 10 reviews that the RN4081 from aquavaporcigs.com was the top choice in they're number one spot. But i just wanted to see what everyone here would recommend on what im looking for seeing as how everyone here probably has more experience then anyone else. lol Thanks in advance everyone.

lol RN4081 a number one. That's false advertising. RN4801 is the last model you should go for, they're so far down the bottom they're not even on the same league as any other ecigs. Avoid at all costs because I bet they cost a bomb for their claims.

For ecigs that look like cigs, you want the kr808d-1 model. You can find them called the volt, halo g6 and bloog. The volt from smokelessimage is the most popular but they are all the same model. It's worlds apart from the RN4081 and any site that claims their ancient ecigs are the best ecigs on the market.

I would advise you not to get one that's cigarette like but if it's what you're after, the kr808d-1 is the best, bar none.

Hi phrozen87,

Welcome to the site.

I started with a Blue. It is not a "bad" ecig. The batteries are very short lived, so I was charging them all the time and the cartridges are expensive with little choice in tastes. I ended up using the blue battery with a 510 atomizer to expend the choice in juices.

I moved on to the 510 with an atomizer and a XL-battery. The battery is a bit longer than a cigarette but lasts a decent amount of time between charges if you are a light vaper. It was a good set up, close to a feel and look of cigarette and I used it for almost a year before upgrading to the eGo-T.

I am sure you will get this warning from other people as well, but here it goes: a lot of vapers wanted something that looked like a cigarette at the start and ended up spending money shortly after that to upgrade to something more user friendly and satisfying. You might want to consider taking a shortcut to the ego or something equivalent.

The "Top 10 Reviews" site is a scam. Every day, noobs get on here and complain that the aqua vapor is junk.

If you absolutely insist on an e-cig the size of a cigarette, and most experienced vapers wouldn't recommend it, there is only a very few worthy of consideration.

The top model would be the Volt, by Smokelessimage.com. It is the best performing of a very sad class of e-cigs. Other similar decent cig-type e-cigs are the Bloog Maxx Fusion, the Halo G6 and the Smoov.

I won't go into all the reasons a mini-cig cannot perform like a larger "mid-sized" Sharpie Marker sized unit. You will discover that for yourself, in time. Everyone wants a mini-cig with a light and an automatic battery when they start. Almost nobody ends up with one after a few months or a year. But if you want a decent chance of having something that works for you, the Volt is the way to go. Virtually every veteran vapor in this forum will agree with me on that, even those like me who discourage noobs from getting that type of e-cig in the first place. I'll let someone else explain exactly why.

definitely do not go with the Blu. That is where I started and had to return it after a week. Their battery only lasts for a hour if you are lucky and the cartos are expensive and go bad quickly.

I suggest the Volt from Smokeless Image. As you read around, you will see that even the veteran vapers who dont use analog look a likes will recommend the Volt if that is what you are looking for.

Here is why the volt is so good. First of all, the battery lasts a long time for a mini. On average, I get about 3 hours of vaping out of my battery. Second, the cartos are priced well and they last a long time. Because of the way they are designed, the tend to not burn the filler like some of the other cartos on the market. I usually get about 3 weeks out of my cartos, having refilled them about 15-20 times. Last, and most important, Smokeless Image's customer service is second to none. They are very fast at shipping. Every order I have made with them has been at my door within 2 to 3 days with standard shipping. If you have a problem with a product, they will take care of it immediately. In addition, Smokeless Image's prices are very good. I would suggest starting with the Pro Starter pack. That will give you 2 batteries (no matter what company you go with, make sure you get two batteries), a Personal Charging Case for charging on the go, and a pack of cartos. You can use the promo code 'sivolt50" to get 15% off your order. I suggest that you spend the $1 to upgrade the batteries to the 78mm. You get 50% more battery life over the 65mm. In addition, get the mega pcc if you chose the pro kit There is no difference in price between the slider pcc and the mega, but the mega holds 2 batteries and 3 cartos.

The other nice thing about the Volt is that they also sell x2 batteries which are similar to the kgo and ego. These batteries last between 7 to 14 hours depending on which one you buy. The cartos from the smaller batteries are interchangeable so that you can use the small batteries on the road and the x2 at home if you want.

Smokeless image is very customer friendly. They always have great promos and contests. For example, after you get a volt, you can go to their subforum on here and post a picture of yourself with the volt and they will give you a free battery, bottle of juice or pack of cartos.

Once you decide on the gear you want, then you can find your juice. Just make sure that you buy a setup that allows you to use blank cartomizers or clearomizers so that you can get ejuice from anywhere. One thing you should know though. There is no juice that tastes exactly like an analog. There is no way to replicate the taste of burning tobacco. THere are alot of tobacco flavors out there, but you will find that most of them come closer to pipe tobacco. The closest I have found would be getting a 555 or ry4. You will find though, that very quickly you will not need the tobacco flavor and venture out to other flavors. The sooner you do this, the more you will enjoy vaping.

If you are looking for throat hits, keep in mind that the throat hit comes from PG juice, nicotine and mint. The more you have of these ingredients in a juice, the stronger the throat hit. That doesn't mean you have to have all 3.

I hope that this helped you. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Everyone on here is very helpful and you will get a lot of recommendations

Just in case you might be willing to budge from the cigarette style, here is probably the best, most successful and popular starter e-cig for new vapers. The battery lasts about 8-10 hours and you won't be run ragged with constant recharging. It's only a tiny bit longer than a Sharpie Marker, about the size of a medium cigar and it doesn't have any of the leaking problems so common with the eGo-C and eGo-Ts. It's economical to use and will give you all the vapor you want. If you look around on this forum, you will see many posts from noobs who got one and love it. This is just one site, there are many vendors who carry them.

A clarification about throat hit.
Throat hit is produced by nicotine. That's all.
E-juice has PG, VG, nicotine and flavorings.
Only the nicotine creates throat hit.
VG mutes throat hit.
If a juice has a lot of PG, it stands to reason it will have less VG, so the throat hit will be stronger and not be muted or smoothed.
That leads people to the incorrect assumption that throat hit comes from PG.
It is more accurate to say that throat hit comes from nicotine combined with less VG and more PG.
Pure 100% PG with no nicotine will not have throat hit. And because VG increases vapor, it won't have much vapor either.
Regardless of what PV you are using, don't expect throat hit without nicotine, unless there is some special additive in the juice to create it.

Be VERY careful of who you take seriously on Youtube. YT is full of hucksters, liars, charlatans, fools and rip-off artists. There are a lot of good reviewers, but there are even more scammers. If they offer you a V2 coupon code, change the channel. If they have a clickable link, change the channel. If the name has the word "Academy" in it, change the channel.
Pbusardo, Grimm Green, Steeljan, Lord Davon, the Vaping Chick, are some good ones. There are others, but get some recommendations here for good reviewers before you walk into the YT cesspool blindfolded.

My personal favorite is Pbusardo. See his review of the kGo if you aren't totally committed to a cig-style e-cig.

Another realy sound e-cig is the kr808 SmokeTip. It is compatable with the other 808's for cartomizers, but has a life long guarentee on its batteries. They replaced 4 of mine free of charge, no nonsence, no hasle. The SmokeTip are autos, which meens they have no button, just inhale. I loved them, but moved on to the Echo. As to the 510 moddles people talk about, yes they have a lot of options, but in all reality, the 808's have better preformance for your money. Good luck. If you avoid the crap rip off scams, you will probably be realy satified with almost any of the quality stuff. The honnest vendors all have good products.:)

Hi everyone, this will be my first post. Im new to the whole e cig idea.

From one noob to another, Welcome Aboard!

Im currently using a cig2o which I would not recommend it unless you can find a gas station / kwik-e-mart that sells them retail and you need to vape ASAP (which I did). Thanks to the input of some of the vets here on ECF I quickly found out that vapage (the cig2o parent company) products are way overpriced. For example the prefilled cartos for the cig2o are $15 for a 5 pack where as Smokeless Image (the makers of the Volt) sells them for $9. Also the cig2o batts are almost DOUBLE the price of the volt.

And yeah, I know its not much but I hope that helps.

I want to thank everyone for helping me out. I think I will try the volt out and see if it fits my needs. So if I wasn't going for a cig look a like. What would you recommend. All I wanna do is spend my money on something that works and gets me off smoking lol. Right now I'm buying pipe tobacco and rolling it in filters but its really starting to mess with my breathing and I'm only 24. So I'm gonna try to quit cold and stick with e-cigs. Thanks again everyone

I think most people would recommend a KGO or something similar to a new user who's looking for a step up from the cigarette sized batteries, because of its long battery life, fairly low cost, and ease of use. To give you an idea of the size, here is a KGO next to a 78mm Volt battery:

A kGo. It's a full 3.7V. The battery is 1100mah, so it lasts 8-10 hours between charges. The kits come with 2 batteries so you can rotate them. It uses 510 as well as eGo specific attachments, so you have maximum versatility and it blows the little e-cigs out of the water. It isn't loaded with useless gimmickry like finicky and leaky tank "system" either. If you look around here you'll see many posts from people who chose the kGo and almost none of them are disappointed. Some are downright ecstatic with the difference between it and the mini-cigs they had been using.

BTW, you're right about the pipe tobacco RYO. I did the exact same thing for months before I started vaping. Even with the filtered tubes, it'll mess you up. I was using the best tobacco I could find and it still was rough.

Here's another vendor with the kGo. There are others and I had posted another one earlier on in this thread.

Greets phrozen! I started off with Blu and V2 but they were poor quality and didn't last long. And the prefilled cartridges are very expensive. Not to mention the flavors tasted bad. I recommend getting an eGO-C from Ovale or Cignot. The starter kits cost pretty much the same as the companies above but the quality is top notch! Plus you get to fill your own tanks (which is very easy and quick) with your juice of choice. There are some amazing juices out there. I recommend vaporheads and halo for juices, but there's a bunch of vendors on the web. Check it out! Youtube is a great site for watching vids of people explaining anything you need to know. Good luck!

Before you think about an eGo-C or an eGo-T, I recommend you look through this forum and notice all the posts that start something like this: "help. my ego is leaking" or "why does my ego taste like burnt plastic?".

The fact is, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who kept their eGo-C or T atomizers and tanks longer than it took for them to burn out. Eventually, most of them abandon their leaky, weak tasting tanks and their special atomizers and cones and just stick a good clearomizer on them. The only people who rave about the eGo tank systems are people who just got them and don't have anything but a gas station e-cig to compare them to.

Sorry to the eGo-C and T users out there. But, that's the way it is. When you get tired of dealing with the drama, you'll put a Stardust on your eGo and you'll wonder what took you so long. Then, you'll have what amounts to a lower powered version of the kGo, which you could have gotten for less money in the first place.

Back in the day, before cartomizers were invented, all there was were atomizers and cartridges. They were terrible. They didn't wick well. They burned. They leaked. There were cottage industries making gizmos to make them work right and people used to stuff them with everything from steel wool to teabags.

Now, Joye is trying to resurrect that obsolete concept of an atomizer and cartridge. They call them "tanks", but make no mistake; they are overblown cartridges and they have the same problems as the original ones. You may put up with them for a while. We put up with cartridges for a while. But, when cartomizers came out, we all abandoned cartridges, just like you will abandon tanks when you get sick of messing with them.
