Hello guys,

I love this section so I`m just about to post this here :D

My lady just came back from a weekend at the beach and there is a big SAND problem here... she`s been with the kits and stuff at the beach for about 30 min only to collect some mussels....

Now I`ve successfully cleaned all the sand at about 90% - one of the dropper bottles is not in a good shape as it is a glass dropper and I cant really clean the sand from it...

So please advise how can we solve this BIG problem for the upcoming vacation....? We`re about to spend a lot of time in the sun and the sand will be all over us. THAT IS NOT GOOD for our shiny E-cigs ....

Also recommended storage for the liquid is 20 degrees C (sorry dont have the symbol here).... that will be another concern for the g%d d&mn crazy hot summer here..

Thanks in advance

Do you have a laptop? Thinkgeek has refrigerators the size of a can of soda that you could use to store e-liquid in and keep the temp down.

I`m confused. What do you mean?

Whatever that can thing is, it can store the liquid at about 20 °C ?

I think I got your point, just checking the website now, but whatever that thing is I`m not taking my laptop to the beach area....

I guess if no one can advise on this thread it means no one have got past experience with such problem.

....or at least if anyone has been thru this he/she did not find a solution..

Personally I think it`s going to be a big problem for me as I do not the sand to ruin all my PVs and liquids but I`ll figure it out anyway.

Cheers

Like thatgirl1985 said. Wrap your liquid containers in a baggie (or two to be safe), and throw them in your cooler with some ice. Better yet, maybe grab a couple of those blue freezer paks and you are set. And like nitewriter said, use a coffee filter to filter out sand from your liquid. Curious, how did she get sand in the liquid container??

are you dripping? dipping? cuz if not i dont see how sand could get in your juice at the beach if you were using carts, or how it could get in your pv, the only holes on mine are the tiny holes on the atty and the small hole for inhaling. If your dripping at the beach maybe you could consider just prefilling some carts. and if your carts run out and your stuck in a sand storm maybe you could refill them in your car. or stand by a wall blocking the wind. but if you insist on having your liquids open around sand then i thing sand in yoru liquids kinda comes with the territory. and as far as keeping your liquids cool under the sun its best just to try to keep them in the shade or in something very lightly colored as to attract less heat. like maybe putting the jar in an envelope.

Damaging the PVs is my #1 concern.

Yes I`m dripping and will consider your advice.

I was thinking of getting a waterproof case or something like that but probably that will not do the job as while I`m vaping the sand might get in the atomiser.

I think that no matter how careful I try to be that will not be enough.

The best solution that I came up with up to now:

- go back to analogs at the beach in the daytime
- go back to my beloved PVs at the pub in the evenings

P.s. I dont mean to offend anyone by saying this but I don`t really think whoever reads this thread can understand the "Power of sands".
These tiny pieces of rock get everywhere and there is billions of them everywhere you go. They ruin every piece of equipment if it is not sealed

seriously? "whoever reads this thread" i think weve all been to the beach. i personally live on the beach front yard-beach and i know "the power of sands" but seriously i dont think that the sand is going to get into those tiny holes on the atomizer. are you in such horrid wind that you have to wear goggles just to keep your vision?? or are you sticking your hands in the sand before picking up your pv??

i dont wanna nag here but you seem a little relutant at the advise that you asked for. appreciation is always appreciated;)

Any other advice?

Help me out guys

Maybe something like a waterproof bag ???

O.K. may I suggest something like a waterproof bag?

Is that the answer you are looking for. Any other suggestion you just seem to piss on.

Not sure if I know the power of sand where you live, but I do ride ATV's on the beach/dunes and camp on the beach all the time. Sand get's everywhere and I live with it. I use common sense with my camera, laptops, etc and just keep them in a case and when I take them out to use them I make sure I don't get sand on them. Just keep your PV out of the sand and wipe any sand off your hands before using. Haven't had my PV at the beach with me yet as I am fairly new to this, but I don't see waht the big deal is.

Think I would just devote a couple of PVs to the beach and if they get totally f'd up toss them and move on.

The bigger issue I have seen is that I have a problem all together vaping in the heat. I think maybe it is just because you can't see the vape as well or something. This is my biggest issue with vaping, they just don't seem to work well for me unless I am indoors in a cool place. Thinking about picking up the Janty stick or screwdriver for such occasions. For now I just grab an analog when the PV pisses me off and still smoking a ton less even so.

Well if what you are saying is true that`s going to be another problem... Tomorrow the forecast say it`s going to be 32°C so I`ll see if that`s going to be an issue.

Guys, I did not mean to offend anyone with my attitude. In fact ~98% about the things I know about e-cigs I learned here at the ECF (~2% off experience) and I`m much thankful about that.

I probably overreacted because of the fact that my GF was at the beach for 15 min the last weekend and I was cleaning sands off the PVs for like an hour and still think it is not 100% clean. I just thought that it`s not only me with such problem and your replies were like:

- go to a non-vaping beach
- get a cooler
- dont worry about it. The sand would not damage your PVs
- Think I would just devote a couple of PVs to the beach and if they get totally f'd up toss them and move on. (sorry but I`m not going to take advantage of your advice)

So thanks again for your replies but no thanks.

I`ll solve my problem one way or another.

P.s Moderators - if it is okay please lock this thread as I do not want to offend anyone here, neither want to feel bad for my attitude. It looks like I`m the only guy with such problem so I don`t see any good point of keeping this thread open. I only see my image in the forum going bad and I do not want this.

Peace

Peace

calm down, your far from the only one person who uses a pv on the beach. your just the only person here making a big deal about it, and very rude about it at that. did your forget my suggestion of using carts instead of dripping while near sand? or on the first page when ....... nvrmnd its not worth it.

enjoy the advice. and moderators do as you wish but i think that since its summer and pv's are growing in popularity that it's prolly a good idea to keep this thread open since there will be alot of pv users hitting the beaches, and there are alot of good suggestions in here.

Haha, no you keep dismissing everyone's suggestions as crap. If you don't like the advice a more polite response or no response would make more sense and probably be appreciated and better received.

I was being sincere with my advice and pointing out other issues I have had while vaping outside and in the heat.

I really think a little care with how you use it on the beach or just don't use it on the beach are probably your only options.

Whoever suggested the cooler, etc. I think was sincere albeit I don't think it is necessary unless you are going to live on the beach (i.e. a little time in the heat with a small bottle of liquid probably will not hurt it), A coke can size cooler I am actually interested in that and will check out that link for possibly carrying liquid when I am stuck out in the heat for extended periods.

I know thank you but no thank you.

No need to close the thread, others might benefit from the advice you seem to be so annoyed with even if you do not.

///Cheers
