I think I pm'd you, if you don't get one from me let me know.

Thanks vt100, I received your pm and will be checking that site out in the morning once i get home from work. I was wondering if you could tell me what happened with the pipe tobacco relabeling... if that is what happened, I'm not really sure. I went to the local smoke shop and picked up some Bali Shag Halfwarzer (sp?), along with 2 other small pouches of pipe tobacco. The Bali Shag is like stringy tobacco, and it rolls much better. The pipe tobaccos seem too thick and produce a much harsher smoke.

I went online to check as I wasn't sure whether it was the kosher thing to be rolling pipe tobacco and inhaling it. I found many people saying yes and many saying no. I found a place that sells the little rubbery cigarette filters by Premier, and they seem to work much better than these 30mm or so long plastic filters with little clear COPYRIGHTDMCA inside. (Bought those accidentally)

Just to answer the sarcastic question as to "which big tobacco company do you work for?" -- the answer is that I work in a hospital doing direct patient care.

I vaped today on the way to school, and rolled a smoke on the way back. Both equally enjoyable. vaping was much more pleasant at 5:30pm as it was still hot from the day's sun. The 7pm ride back was much nicer with a warm smoke as the cool air had made it's way around permeating the area.

I do have a serious question though as I want to make sure that I am not poisoning myself. I remember reading somewhere on this forum some time back that burning PG at too high of a temperature creates some kind of harmful substance? I just want to be careful dripping onto my tobacco before I smoke my cigarette since I know that cigarettes burn at around 700 - 1300 F.

Anyone recall anything like this or am I just being delusional?

you are right, nothing beats a nice winter cigarette, but do you really want to risk your health.

i used to be a ryo enthusiast but after a while it begins to be the same tired crap. i understand if you fell like its something new to explore, but didnt you feel that way about e cigs? something new to try and now you are already tired of it. if you start tobacco what will you do when you get tired of it and have bad lungs in addition.

i strongly recomend not smoking analogs, but i will be respectful to your original question. smokinglobby.com is a pretty good forum.

you should try balishag rolling tobacco. it is really good and has a distinct taste.

also if you really want to try something new pipesmoking is good. it isnt so hard on your lungs and it is fun to get into.

some good pipe tobaccos are aristocrat or any type of vanilla

you can try tasty puff. it is sold at .... shops as "tobbaco" flavoring but it comes in all different flavors and it is good so you dont have to waste e liquid

The last pack of tobacco I bought was Bali Shag. I enjoyed RYO off and on for 15 years and always hand rolled. One of the hardest parst of quiting was that I was really good at rolling cigerettes! I've used the filters a couple times but didn't like rolling with them. Were the plastic filters you bought like Targard filters? I friend of mine has some rolling tobacco for me and next time I'm drunk and out of e-cigs I'll probably smoke it and going to get some targard filters to try with it. I've also smoked pipe tobacco off and on for 15 years but never tried rolling it up and smoking it. I wouldn't recommend dripping e-liquid on the cigarettes. You will probably get a big enough nic hit from the Bali Shag so don't over due it. You could try vaping 0 nic and smoking RYO intermittently or vice-versa so you don't increase your nic level to drastically. I found 36mg-48 would give me a very slight buzz but not much compared to a rolled cigarette. Also the best part of hand rolling is being able to change to size of the cigarette from skinny for a 5 minute smoke to extra wide for a 10 minutes plus smoke. Bali Shag is also a lot stronger than MDC's. I've always like MCD's but sometimes flet like I needed a cigerette after smoking one.
Good luck.

If you have decided to go back to analogs go with Natural American Spirit Organic RYA. That is what I smoked before discovering e-cigarettes. You can buy them in packs as well but you will save money buying the loose RYA. Skip the injector machine and just get a zig-zag or top rolling machine and filter tips (100 for about a dollar). Injectors are a pain in the ...! I have tons of RYA/injector equipment and about 20 packs of rolling papers in a shoe box in the closet. Your post reminded me that I need to put the whole lot up on e-bay as they are of no use to me now. At least think about giving vaping another chance and good luck.

I was really stressed out about something last night and had one of my backup analogs. I realized something else great about ecigs. As a lot of us lifelong smokers know, no matter how long we quit, when really bad things happened in our lives, we would probably pick up a cigarette. After the first one the habit was on again. At least this time, that did not happen to me. I'm back on track with the ecigs. I pray that you have the same experience.

The lure of tobacco is strong. How he justifies going back to tobacco is a telling sign as to the power of tobacco. See, everybody pat yourself on the back if you haven't regressed back to tobacco, it's quite an achievement! :D Reading his post has made me more resolved to never smoke again....thank you.

I heard there are new 12-step groups forming as we speak.

i am just using the line of arrival.. mini.. super mini.. 510.. a 510 could be a super mini turned back into the mini... he he he..

the main thing being the trend for making each new one smaller has stopped.. which has to be good thing from a functionality point of view..

trog

I'd say this is true but you also have to look at the other side of this coin. It created an industry for a better battery which even you are a big part of. Now look at the direction of battery mods. They are getting smaller but with much better function (1+days of life on a charge :hubba:). They aren't back to "penstyle" diameter (yet) but just look at what they are doing with a 18650 and smaller now in the modders area.

This industry coupled with demand for a better battery is birthing creativity everyday.

I wish the OP well,,, I am not for the purist in the world, do believe in making your own choices and not the choices others would put on you..

Hard to imagine not accepted by others because you smoke,, and then not accepted by ex smokers or ex smokers groups because I haven't earned the scars and misery that they endure being cold turkey.. I was amazed to here a gal that has been chewing nic gum for 15 years nervious anxious edgey... for 15 years and she accepts that state of being as earning the scars of not smoking. And shun me in a heart beat for not really earning anything by vaping....

my last memory of analogs is can't , awful, not a thought in my head as an option for there being any amount of pleasure to cause an urge in that direction I'm so thankful for the reality of it.

I like being accepted and supported in this forum and being able to do what ever and how ever I need to do it... to get where I couldn't get before.. for my own goals.... I just knew my lungs were at a cross road that point of no return for being able to breath on my own, to heal was coming quicker then I would of liked to think about it... I want to be able to vape, and I would want the OP to be able to smoke if that is what he wants to do.. And still have the support...

The pipe tobacco they sell for rolling is called blending tobacco, it isn't cured like regular pipe tobacco. I read that it is for cutting regular pipe tobacco to create different, maybe milder, flavors. At first it really seemed different, it was thicker and very clean cuts. After a few weeks they just seemed to be relabeling the cigarette tobacco as pipe tobacco...

I got it from D&R tobacco that the only thing different is the cut. And from what I tasted before I quit, I'd have to agree - same good flavor as I had before.

The rolling machine I was using before I quit to the e-cig was the Premier Supermatic Excel. It functioned like a champ everytime, and I think it is less $ than the Topomatic machines though things may have changed since I quit. Using that in conjunction with Tops tobacco bags and any tubes w/filters resulted in a very good smoke every time. I could make a packs worth in 10 minutes or less because its easy (probably with any machine like that for that matter). There is no doubt much cheaper tobacco out there though. I cant help with any good RYO forum info though, just thought id pass this along and I hope this helps you.

The Excel (the smaller Premier machine) was less than the Topomatic and the Topomatic was a Premier Supermatic clone, iirc. The best RYO forum is now defunct but the info is stil there - sro dalrun. I PMed him the url.
