Sunday project - repurposed auto ashtray

Okay so I have seen the cup holder setups, however I typically use both my cup holders. So I thought why not use the ashtray which had never been used in my 2002 Dodge Ram. Made it out of scrap wood, then covered with felt. Works great.

That's what made me do this. I started using it but they rolled around and actually fell out a couple of times. I bought foam to use, however I thought it would be easier to make the holes with a Forstner Bit in wood. It was easy and works perfect.

You are clever and talented! That looks great! I have a 10-year old Pontiac Grand Prix, and I remember I had to pay extra when I bought it - to get the "Smokers Package" which included the ash tray and the plug-in lighter.

Whatever works for you. It doesn't have to be pretty. Besides it looks fine. Can't argue with the fact that it works.
