Hey guys,

I ordered some supplies finally! I am ready to begin becoming a true potion master.

I got the natures oil VG and PG from amazon and the rest of my stuff from wizardlabs. Anyone know if they are a pretty efficient shipper? I hope to receive my stuff soon(hopefully before my currect ejuice supply runs out)

Anyone ever heard of potion xxiv? They make some really awesome tobacco flavors that I might try to replicate.

Here are the flavors I grabbed up.

BLack honey tobacco
Flue Cured
butterscotch flavor
caramel original flavor
sweet cream flavor (i heard bavarian cream and bht were really good together but they were sold out of bavarian)

Anyone know any good tobacco recipes I can try out?

I got the 100mg nic in the 120 ml bottle. That should last me a while if I am making juices in the 6mg to 9mg range yeah?

The vg and pg bottles I got were 16 oz each so I assume that should last me a while too.

I have two little 5 ml bottles and about 10 glass 15ml bottles so I think I am cool with those for now. They are nice amber glass bottles that potionxxiv packages their flavors in. I find it hard to believe that they would have access to any flavors that I couldnt get my hands on so it shouldnt be a stretch to try to figure out how they made their flavors right? i might be way off base there though.

The biggest reason i am getting into DIY is the hunt for my perfect tobaco flavor. I got on ecigs to quit smoking analogs and I was a heavy smoker. parliment lights and marlboro lights. so I am totally looking for a nice tobacco type eperience. Saving money would be cool too.

Any reccomendations to add to what I have gotten my mitts on already? ( I did purchase some droppers and needles from wizard labs for measuring)

It's exciting stuff, way to go!

Unfortunately, I've never had or mixed any tobacco juice, so I can't recommend anything there :)

But yeah, 120ml of 100mg nicotine should last you quite a bit... even if they were 10mg mixes, each ml of nicotine would make 10ml, so you've got around 1200ml of juice ready to be made!

In my limited experience (2 orders), Wizard Labs is a little slow on the prep time for shipments, moreso if there's nic involved. For me, it was about 4-5 days of processing before shipment (when ordering nic), but everything I've gotten has been top-notch and well-packaged.

Have fun mixing, and good luck replicating!

Best of luck finding that perfect tobacco flavor, it is a good hunt but an elusive prey. Unfortunately, everyone perceives tastes differently, so what is perfect for someone else may be disgusting to you. So take other people's recipes with a big grain of salt, and don't assume you have failed when a given recipe does not work for you. Likewise for flavorings, some people love a certain one that others hate; you will have to try them and judge for yourself. That said, Hangsen tobaccos are pretty popular here, and I have not found any I dislike, although a few are underwhelming to me.

Since you are just starting out, I will recommend one of my blogs for DIY beginners that has links to additional reading, including Dannyv45's and Hoosier's blogs, which were very helpful for me starting out:

I buy bulk for extra savings. I get my vg and pg from Essential Depot and have been very impressed with their products and shipping.

I have tried several different flavors but I have been the most impressed with Vaping Zone's Gourmet and Super Concentrated flavorings. They may cost a bit more overall but I find them more economical because you use less in a recipe. I have mixed their 7Star tobacco with just about every flavoring you can think of and have been very pleased. Check the out.

Good luck to you and happy mixing.

most people mixing tobaccos are also using acetyl pyrazine as an additive as well in the 0.5 - 2 % range depending on taste. It adds some flavor texture and nuttiness to juice. my favorite tobaccos so far have been burley from inawera and captain black from seedmans. I have some hangsen to try but am having to much fun right now with custards and bakery stuff.

Careful with the AP I would start with .5 - 1%. Many don't like a nutty taste in there tobacco. So do a small sample at first if your going to try it. 3% and it starts to taste like corn chip, Greater then 4% and you get burnt popcorn. I myself love the nutty tobaccos but that's just me.

- tidbit - I ALMOST got that 2 gallons, free shipping from Essential Depot today. Then I realized, that's like 4 YEARS worth for me...so I backeout out. But then I found that I could get smaller sizes with free shipping on Amazon - STILL Essential Depot. Just type "Essential Depot" in to Amazon...

- Replicating a good tobacco flavor MAY take quite a while actually. There are literally infinite variables to what their recipe may be. They might use any of about 100 different tobacco flavorings. Most likely a combination of a couple. Heck - they MIGHT extract their own tobacco flavoring using some unusual process, in which case you'll NEVER reverse engineer it.

STILL, you can have a bit of fun trying, and even more likely, you might whip up a mix that you like BETTER than the store-bought juice.

That's what happened for me - I was trying to get something like Halo Tribeca, but pretty quickly realized my attempts weren't good "clones" - but they were very tasty!

Strong smell, too!
Don't spill it. Heck, don't keep the bottle open long!

thanks for the tip danny. I read a lot of your posts in the hangsen thread. Great stuff! I am going to end trying a lot of your combos. Your smoking history seemed to line up with the type of smoker I was. As much as I love a nice flavorful vape I still find myself longing for that cigarette flavor sometimes
