Funny you would bring up the ELA in 18650 mode and the gap between the main battery housing and the accent ring. I emailed David about that very thing and he said no additional trim rings required. I don't think I conveyed the concern accurately, my logic says yes there will be a gap just like what you have stated. Do you know if this can be resolved with an additional trim ring from Super-T, or would I have to order one and machine it to fit?

I asked the same question, ready to order another set of rings for my (someday, this pre-order is brutal) ELA. The rings will fit, but make the ELA look unbalanced was the reply. I'm taking my chance with no additional rings and have heard from others it works well this way.

jasl90, thanks for taking the time to mic that out. 24mm is about what I thought, agree many 22's, some 23's and that's about it on the larger sizes. Although I think some of you have seen the Foggatti type 22 screwed on an ELA, looks pretty damn good to my eye. Maybe a 1mm edge is not noticeable until you run your thumb across it. No rush on the batteries, I obviously have some time, mucho time from the sounds of it.

rrayda, David is probably right on the extra trim rings (unbalanced appearance), the man does have an eye for style. Maybe with an RBA attached that changes? No biggie, I have a jar full of unnecessary parts I thought I needed, about 2 or 3 find a good home every year as I tinker away on stuff. My motto, if it works still fix it - and then you know what happens, one helluva education though.

Question for you vapers out there who vape in public. 1st, where the hell are you, under buses? I have never seen one of these formidable vaping tools out on the street, never. Being a guy always on the look out for a new gadget, believe I would have seen one by now if they were out there. Had I not decided to give eCig a shot and then look into it, this whole world of vaping would have eluded me forever, what gives? I'm also curious what the public perception is for those of you with those encounters, no way can you pull out your favorite big gun at the local Starbucks and not turn some heads. What's the feedback been? What about air travel - in the terminal or on a plane lol, I'm sure that would be a keeper for the grandchildren!

No problem at all. :)

I personally, I think the ELA has enough variation in width itself that you don't gain anything from matching the width of the atty to the width of the top cap. Straight tube mods like a Caravella, PAPS, or GUS look goofy if there's width difference, and it's immediately noticeable. Not so much ith the ELA.

I've seen a number of different attys, of different widths, that look like they were made for the ELA. If you keep up with the main ELA thread, it seems the Kayfun is the current belle of the ball. It's too big for my taste but I have to admit it does look good on there... Especially in the 18350 mode.

Here in Jax, FL... there does seem to be quite a few people who are making the switch to e cigs and we have a few local B&Ms. That said, all I tend too see are a lot of eGo / Vivi setups... I'm guessing that's mainly because its all local shops carry.

I think I'd fall out if I saw someone out using height end gear. Come to think of it, I think fall out if they even recognized high end stuff.

As for attention... Not much. If anything people just want to know about e cigs in general or they will ask if the bigger ones work better than the little ones, because the littles didn't do it for them.

Beyond that, I "try" not to vape anywhere that that you can't smoke... Most of the time... When I do vape in questionable areas, I try to be be low key about it.

Good point with the ELA not being flat, most attys do look good on it. Looked into the Kayfun, also caught a vid of it (I think). Yes, rather large and not for me but certainly unique in one regard - parts! parts! parts!

I also keep a low profile with my V2's when in non-smoking areas, partly because they look like cigarettes and I don't want to deal with the looks or explanation. Once I get the ELA I'll be a little more outgoing I think.

Doodlebug, did someone say Doodlebug? Matt's limited edition opened on 6/28 and sold out on 6/28 - but all is not lost. I emailed Matt on his next project and he says his new atomizer will be displayed at the UK Vapefest on August 17th, and then web details end of August with stock being available early September. I'm sure it will also be a winner just like the Doodlebug was. Looked at the Mini Micro and Mini-B in the context of being paired with an ELA (saw some vids on them). I think they would look good too, starting to think anything short of a plastic straw is going to look good on an ELA :D

Looking for a custom leather holster for the ELA. Looks like Griff has slowed down his operation substantially so I'm looking at other sources. Ran across RMB Custom Leather and think they might be a viable option. For anyone with a Super-T ELA being used in 18650 mode, how long is it from the switch to top cap (no kick and it doesn't have to be exact)? Also, if anyone has a high quality supplier for leather holsters I would be interested in knowing who they are, much appreciated!

TWSBI, good tip and I have checked out some flashlight holsters. My concern there is the pocket length and flap that snaps over, could be a problem. I would rather not have a flap at all, just a simple drop-in made out of quality leather. One that I really like is a Griffin creation here (3rd row middle) ... SerenityGear Leather - Photo Gallery
But that is old inventory and I don't think Griff is doing them anymore. I have an email out to him, maybe he can do one more? Suffice it to say his work is outstanding.

I'm measuring 4.15" tip-to-tail on the ELA in 650 mode.
Also, since you asked about RBAs, I love the Kayfun on the ELA. Here's a pic in 500 mode:

kscoggins, much appreciated on the length dimension! The Kayfun looks good, a pretty popular RBA in these here parts. I also found out they make a Lite version, no adjustable draw and a little shorter as far as I can tell. I'm reconsidering the Kayfun as an option, but as said earlier - many, many parts. That's not necessarily bad, I'm hoping there's a reason for it and why that sets the Kayfun apart from other solid RBA contenders. I've seen a couple of vids on the Kayfun, but none really explain the engineering behind that substantially more complex design.
