First I want to say hello , I'm a-little tense right now. I received my Super T Precise Plus 16340-F today !! I should be vaping in heaven , BUT, I dropped in the battery that was suggested as the on e to buy with the unit and it doesn't fit. The battery is a AWProtected CR123 3.7V 750mah .. I'm not sure but can the post on the bottom switch be adjusted? I dropped the battery in negative side down positive up. Please tell me I didn't wait this long and the battery is the wrong size. A very small washer came with it and I'm not sure where to use it either. Go ahead and laugh at the newbie. Can't even drop a battery in this beauty....I'm dying here, the anxiety is killing me, can someone help me out, please?

Is this the battery you have:

Bat1.jpg.w300h225.jpg

If so, it is correct, and will work. Your P+ should have came with several O rings and several small washers. The negative post can be adjusted by adding/removing washers. Use a screw driver to remove the negative post from the switch assembly and add/remove washers as necessary. You may also want to change the O ring configuration to suit your battery.

Here is the recommended setup from the owner of SuperT:

PrecisePlus Setup:

Note: These are just a starting point, you may find you like an extra washer on the Rhodium switch post to adjust the throw to your liking or need a different Oring combination for the battery. There should be resistance felt the last 1/2 turn or so of your top cap as it compresses the oring down, this is normal. Adjust accordingly to achieve this.

...

PrecisePlus 16340:

AW IMR 16340 and AW ICR 123/16340: One Thick (.100) #112 in the battery chamber.
One Washer under the Rhodium switch post.

SuperT has their own supplier forum you can post specific questions at: Super T Manufacturing

The P+16 is an awesome little device. I hope you can have her up and running shortly.

Good Luck.

Ah, cool info ajohnson. What I had read indicated that the CR123 would only work in the Precise 18650. So changing the O-rings will allow the 17mm CR123 to fit in a 16mm "16340 tube"?

CR123A batteries are generally the same dimensions as a 16340. 16340 is just another name for the same cell type. Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia:

cr123a.jpg

Article Link: List of battery sizes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The length may vary slightly due to the protection circuit. The O rings adjust the battery's height within the tube.

Hey ajohnson, that same Wiki article lists the CR123 as 17mm wide and the 16340 as 16mm (last table at bottom of page). Anywho, if it'll work for finaritwo in his Precise, that's great news that I'm sure he'll be glad to know. Nice looking device to be sure!

You are correct, and further digging came up with this (just interesting info):

What are the differences between R123, 16340 and R17345 batteries?

R123 is a common name for a rechargeable Li-ion 123 battery. The 123 battery size is also known as a 17345. In the international cell size designations, the first two digits are the diameter in millimeters and the last three digits are the length in tenths of a millimeter. Thus a R17345 battery will be 17mm in diameter and 34.5mm long.

A typical protected R123 (R17345) is manufactured using a 16340 rechargeable Li-ion cell. By the time you add the protection circuit, the resulting battery grows to the 17345 size. It is incorrect to refer to these batteries by the internal cell size. They should always be referred to by their true external size.

I can tell you that the AW ICR 123 cell will fit and work will in the P+16. It is recommended by the manufacturer, and by at least one P+ user (Me) :)

I just got in, Whew , day care centers, Lot of runny noses. The precise came with one spare washer and another under the negative post. I removed the xtra washer from the post but it seems that isn't the cause. I reached in and removed a fairly think round black plastic washer (is this the o_ring-?) sitting at the bottom of the precise but just above where the negative post pushes up. It sits in an indentation to prevent the battery from pushing down completely on the negative post. The battery I'm using is the one pictured by ajohnson13.
I'm assuming the O-ring's responsibility is to support the battery and also help it fit nice and snug. As it sits now without the xtra washer and the O-ring still in, the cap almost screws all the way with about a gap the with of one of the washers I removed from the negative post.Where do I purchase other O-rings? ( I bought this particular Precise 16340 from Cloud 9 Vaping .It came in a black cloth sleeve, with and "1" extra washer in a plastic baggie. nothing else, no instructions no extras O-rings) Can I operate it the way it is ? I'll try to fire it up and see if I get contact.I'll try to upload a photo to show you what I mean.

Yes, the "black plastic washer" is the O-ring I speak of. It should go under the battery as you have described it. It is important to keep the O-ring installed under the battery as an extra protection measure.

I am surprised you only got one extra washer. All of the P+'s I have purchased direct from Super T have included extra O rings in different sizes and at least two extra washers. You can purchase the O ring and washer kit from Super T here under the PrecisePlus Spare Parts section.

My recommendation is to put the O ring back in and put both washers under the negative post. Be sure the switch is not in the locked postion.

If you have multi meter, depress the firing button and meter the center pin to the body of the PV. You should see ~4.2-3.7 VDC depending on the current charge level of the battery. It is probably a good idea to meter the battery as well, just to be sure it is providing voltage.

What type of atomizer/cartomizer are you using. There are some known issues with certain types of connectors not making contact with the P+.

If none of this works, I highly recommend posting in the SuperT Suppliers forum, there are many P+ experts, and Dave (the owner of Super T) posts almost daily and is always happy to help.

I purchased it from Cloud 9 Vaping , I was interested in some of their items and when I saw a Super T in stock I couldn't help myself. I'm waiting on another directly from super t , an 18650 . Dave has them as one of his recommended distributors in the UK. I wonder why they didn't provide the extra O-rings and washers? I'm using 510 platinum cartomizers from Ikenvape. I intend to use 801 Fusion Lr and some 510 duel coils ss pre-punched in a cartomator tank. The experimenting begins. I'm waiting to get on Jonboys list for a Lavatank and a Lavagen. We know how difficult that is. lastly I'm waiting on a Pro-V Cartomator, all this waiting is competing with my three year old !! I'll update after a few vales, hopefully successful.Do you have any tank suggestions and carto's ? Thanks

I hold Cloud 9 Vaping in very high regard, however it does bother me that they did not supply all of the accessories you should get when buying a new PV. That being said, I hope you can get her working. I have plenty of spare O rings and washers, and would be more than willing to drop a few in the mail to you.

I have never tried the ikenvape cartos, but I here great things about them. I started the carto tank world with a Cartomator, and moved to JonBoy tanks, so IMO you are headed in the right direction. I have always used Boge cartos, and still have a decent stock of the Pre Bogegate cartos. I have moved on to genesis style rebuildables, so my carto tanks get very little use, if any (until the Lavagen is released that is :) )

One last question, and unfortunately/fortunately leads back to Cloud 9 Vaping again . When I purchased the 16340, the option ,as I mentioned previously , was given to purchase the battery for the Super T-16340 which was an AW IC Protected123 3.7V 750mah. The Charger " UltraFire-Rapid Charger Model WF-188 " was suggested as a pair with these batteries. Has anyone had any experience using " AW Protected Li-on Rechargeable 3.7V ICR123 750mah " with this particular charger ,The WF-188? It's a little confusing and of all thing I want to play it safe and to be sure they're compatible . I placed one in to be charged and the green light turned into a blinking red ? What does that mean? This is important stuff, don't want to burn the house down!!
