Super tight draw on 808 auto batteries

I've tried searching and browsing through the forum, but haven't found the answer. Does anyone know why both of my auto batteries have developed a really tight draw? They were airy when I first got them, too airy actually, but now it seems like I can barely draw through them. Is there a way I can fix it?

Did you try cleaning it? Sometimes the holes under the threads get plugged up and cause a problem with draw.

I did, at first I thought that it was just gunked up, but cleaning didn't help at all.

Have you changed to a different style of carto?
Some have notches cut into the threaded end for air, and some don't.
Have you tried loosening the carto just a tad?
The cartos that I've gotten from one supplier have notches, which (IMHO) allow too much air, and cartos from another supplier
have no notches, which is a tad harder to puff, (but can be regulated by a slight turn on the threads) but gives a much better hit.
