CASAA is supporting a new study of the effects of e-cigarette vapor on indoor air quality (IVAQS). The study is being conducted by a respectable, reliable and dependable consulting firm that specializes in indoor air quality/environmental tobacco smoke. Several tests will be conducted regarding the use of two of the most popular e-cigarettes brands and e-liquids used. Results obtained from the measurements will then be put into an indoor air quality model to estimate the impacts of the use of the different brands and e-liquids, taking into account various air exchange rates and room volumes for estimating worst case scenarios and overall impacts of the indoor air quality. Results from this research will help us show that indoor e-cigarette use does not pose a health risk to bystanders.
This study is completely funded by donations from people like you!

You can donate via CASAA here: CASAA.org

it says ZIP is required.

Okay, I see that on the secure payment page, even though neither zip nor address is required on the initial page, where you start the donation. On that last secure payment page it also requires the street address, besides the zip, but not the state or country.

I do already have a message out to Webby, asking for clarification on this issue.

Will post again as soon as possible.

Nojoyet, this is just an interim report, because I don't want people to think nothing is being done.

I know Webby is working on some changes to the IVAQS donation page, because he sent me something to test over the weekend. Hopefully, it will be implemented very soon!

Thank you so much for wanting to help.

Is there an estimate of how much this testing is going to cost. It might help if we had an idea of how much is needed in donations as that could possibly inspire people to donate. It really helps to inspire when one can watch the amounts total up as we reach our goals.

More information, including the 76,000 estimated total cost of the study (that covers not only the data gathering stage, but also the costs of having the results written up by a respected and published expert so as to be published in a peer reviewed scientific journal), can be found here:

This page was not available yet when we published the call for donations on the CASAA site. But your question reminds me that we do need to include the above link on our fund-raising page. So thanks!

Thanks for the link yvilla. Hubby and I are planning on making a donation soon. I would also suggest that perhaps once a week give an update on how much has been raised to that date and how much more is needed. Having been involved previously with raising donations for other organizations over the years, I have found that people are more likely to donate and often more than once, if they can see what the totals are on a regular basis.

MoonRose, the link I posted above at post #12 does take you to a page with a "thermometer", showing the amounts raised so far, visible if you scroll down a bit after first arriving on the page.

(But you do have to remove the two spaces I had to put in the link, in order to get it to display here).

Anyway, it's currently showing us at about 25,000, or about a third of the way there.
