I'm about to find out how vaping will help me. I just recently found this forum while doing some research about quitting smoking. I have been smoking for about 25 years and have tried quitting a few times without success. I tried wellbutrin, the patch, gum/lozenges, an inhaler thingy, and all failed for various reasons. I hadn't really considered e-cigs as a viable alternative until I started reading stories from members here about their successes quitting. I just ordered an e-go c kit on thursday and can't wait for it to get here. I would like for my wife to try to quit as well and with money really tight right now winning this kit would be great to give to her. Whoever the winner may be, I think this was a wonderful idea and really appreciate your generosity and willingness to help others. Thank you!

Sunday #1-Vaping has changed my life! After being a pack and 1/2 day smoker for 27 years, with many failed attempts to quit, I was able to put the stinkies down for good:D I would like to share this gift with my friend at work. She suffers from Leukemia and has many health problems due to it. Her doctors have told her many times that she MUST quit smoking, but she hasn't been able to. Since I've started vaping, she has wanted to as well, but can't afford it because she cares for her handicapped brother, daughters and their children...ALL who live with her! Mind you She is the only one working:facepalm: If I won this kit, I would love to give it to Regina to help her get started in something that I feel would greatly improve her health...and maybe even save her life:) Thank you for having this wonderful contest!

I had to quit smoking because it was really starting to affect my health after 15 years. If you ask around you'll quickly find that the vast majority of smokers who have been doing it for any extended period of time you will quickly find that they all have something in common - that they want to quit.

I have a friend who keeps trying - and failing - to quit with conventional methods. I know he want's to quit but every time I bring up e-cigs he just seems to go silent. This has caused me to be reluctant to just throw a kit his way. He knows it worked for me but he's just not convinced. I've been entering contests recently for kits hoping to hit something for him. Heck, if I win I'll give you his address to mail it to just to show this one isn't for me!

For me? Hindsight is a mysterious thing. I think a lot of us, while smoking, are in a lot of denial. I could always rationalize my smoker's cough - blame it on allergies, it really wasn't that bad, etc. Sitting here today, I realize how quiet things can be now that the smoker's cough is gone. With vaping there is no more coughing with the first cigarette of the day. Or the 6th, or the 10th, or the 22nd, the 30th... Some things take a while to catch up with you. Coughing off and on all day long is one thing, now that I fully realize how much coughing I was actually doing, I'm glad is gone.

The things you gain from vaping seem to be easy to spot. The things you lose can some times be harder to quantify.

Something we all can get behind: Saving money.

This wasn't a primary reason I wanted to quit smoking. But I was really tired - and angry - of being treated like some kind of tax revenue cash cow in context of the addictive aspect of smoking.

I use Quicken so knowing my numbers is no big deal. And sure, that sig counter only tells part of the story. That's how much I haven't spent on smoking. When I run the numbers - what I would have spent on smoking less what I have actually spent on vaping - I'm in the black $1,694.04 to date. Wow. And that's only after 14 months...

When it comes to quitting you takes your motivation wherever you can find it. If the money spent on smoking is a big motivator for someone to quit, I'm just saying you can vape and actually save money doing it. Me happy!

One of the reasons I love vaping is the relief of anxiety it gives me.

I went to a church potluck yesterday, and, after dinner as usual I had a nic fit.

But instead of just having to endure or go hide and have a cig and then feel worried that I smell like smoke, I just popped into the bathroom, got out my little PV and vaped.

No bad smell, easy, quick.

Monday#1:

So with my heart going crazy when I went to sleep I figured "well I better get more active, I'm too young for this kinda stuff to be happening yet". So I started running, cigarette in hand, looking like a dang fool. I ran and I ran, for months, a year. After all that time I got my stamina up to a whopping 1/2 a mile. My speed was pretty good, but in the end I was running at a level that was 20-30 years older than me lol. After I'd get done I couldn't smoke for a while because I'd feel like death itself. That didn't stop me from trying.

So I quit by vaping and kept running. Now a mile shoots by and I'm like "let's do another mile!" and I'm breathing great. Vaping gives you all the benefits of smoking with almost none of the negatives. Win. I ran the Race for the Cure recently. I didn't do great, but I don't train that hard - it's just for fun and a good cause. One thing's for certain: I couldn't do 3+ miles before.
