Ok so I don't know if I am the only one but seeing as there is a lot of confusion at the moment and a lot of people are worried, I wanted to make a spot where we could vent and spread optimism about the future of vaping is. We need to not let this speed bump hinder us, and to keep moving forward. :D

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!
Learn to DIY juice, make your own coils, get some good mods that will last. Stock up on supplies..most (all?) of what you buy will last for years except for batteries. Anyone know how long you can expect LiIon batteries to last in the freezer???
If the sky doesn't fall you'll have bought supplies before inflation/prices increase. If the axe does fall then you'll be sitting pretty!

I managed to rip apart an old blu carto I had lying around (they are 510) and make it into a working dripping atty. Was it great? nope. But if all else fails we have that and the good old fashioned puck mod (google it).

Actually I think there will always be vapers modding stuff. Never underestimate many of the folks here on ECF when it comes to keeping vaping going. Even if it goes underground.

I thought of this. Then i thought.....! I plan on living for at least another 20years! Thats ALOT of stocking up! Batteries not concerned about, they will never go away. Our batteries are used in alot more stuff than what we use, so whew on that. But crap man, how much nicotine base would i need for lets say 20 years, 18mg, 10ml a DAY? Oh and i say 20 years because A. I am OLD now B. I wasnt very nice to my body for the last 40 years so yea!. For all you yungings! Get a freezer, a REALLY BIG freezer and hope the power NEVER goes out! for like along time.

I figure that if you have something like a Provari or whatever that uses regular batteries, you are safe on that score and you can also stockpile things like Twists and Spinners, etc. We have 2 yr to stock up on batteries and on various toppers. Juice will probably be the biggest issue, but I think suppliers will figure out something (they can sell flavors with instructions on adding the nicotine, for example), so maybe stockpile some nicotine too. Two years is quite a long time to figure out how to beat these people at their silly game. We will be okay...although I worry most about the folks who have started businesses selling juice to us and how they will fare.

Thank you, SingedVapor, for starting this thread. I see it as a place we can talk about feelings, when "feelings" wouldn't be appropriate to the more technical discussions happening in other threads.

I have been sick this past week. Reading the deemings and impace analysis has prompted headaches, sleeplessness, and stomach upset, to say nothing of general dysphoria. I'm making notes like crazy: questions and ideas to use in my comment to FDA. I've been doomsday prepping for over a year, and will continue, but I also plan to keep supporting my online and B&M vendors for as long as they manage to stay in business.

Such prepping and vendor support will, in my case, result in more than a lifetime amount of vaping supplies. So when (or, optimistically, if) the worst happens, I'll be in a good position to pay it forward to vapers who aren't so well supplied (I'm not talking black market here, tho that in another sense also figures in my planning).

I joined CASAA last year and make a regular monthly contribution to them. I also sent them something at Christmastime. And from now on, I'm going to add up my monthly vaping expenditures and send CASAA an equivalent percentage.

Figuring out the positive ways I can help, come what may, is helping me cope and constructively fight the battle(s) that must be fought. (But still I'd kill for a headache-free hour or a full night's sleep!)

Agreed, batteries are not a worry.

But crap man, how much nicotine base would i need for lets say 20 years, 18mg, 10ml a DAY?
Assuming you buy 100 mg/ml "base", you would need a bit over 13 liters or abut 3.5 gallons of the stuff. At current prices, that's about $750 worth of nicotine.

Get a freezer, a REALLY BIG freezer
The freezer doesn't need to be very big. One cubic foot equals almost 7.5 gallons. Of course due to the packaging inefficiency of round bottles, you can't actually get 7 gallons of nic base per cubic foot of freezer capacity, but you should be able to get close to 50% of its theoretical capacity. Thus even a small, cheap 4 cubic foot freezer that you can buy for ~$200 would be sufficient to store a lifetime supply of 100mg nic base for an entire family of vapers.

and hope the power NEVER goes out! for like along time.
Why? Nic base isn't like meat; it doesn't spoil if the power goes out and it's allowed to warm up.

Remember this: He who panics first panics best.:D

About 13.5 liters of 100 mg/ml gets you 10 ml/day for 20 years at 18 mg/ml. Plus a case of mason jars for the freezer :D
