I don't think anyone is necessarily a 'perfectionist' just because they have learned to use one special coffee measuring spoon and exactly the same amount of water each time for the perfect morning brew, or that adding the flavoring packet to a bowl of Raman noodles AFTER boiling and not during boiling just produces a better and repeated exactness they enjoy.

So too it seems to me should it be with vaping but I am certainly running into frustrating surprises lately. Wondering if others have run into the following quirks .... Firstly, since I lost all sense of taste to a virus about 15 years ago, I don't really need nor use anything but Nic VG and a touch of Vodka dilution which produces a fast flowing and perfectly clear fluid that also conveniently doesn't seem to wear out nor clog my coils very quickly.

My vaping mixture never changes, and I'm using seven 2200mAh dial twister batteries in a recharge pattern that has about the same uniformity of repitition as a 1940's German marching band. The repeated and cloned exactness verges on near paranoia ... yet ... strange as it seems, their are often simple senseless variations in taste, cloud, draw, throat hit, and even air intake sound ... I hope I'm being descriptive enough ... put another way I'd use the example that if vaping mechanics were applied to hourly automobile performance there would never be a guarantee from hour to hour if one were going to make the drive home or not .

I switched to a Gimlet Giant 5 ml Pyrex clearo especially because of the guaranteed sameness of the Gimlets own special screw in dual coil cartridges that fit nothing else, and having about a dozen extras I just change to another every 6 hours or so to let the previous one 'dry out' or 'rest' or whatever. But the changes continue and it's as if vaping hasn't reached a point of guaranteed 'sameness' like the old foul smelling analog ... I am truly soooo confused by it 'bout now ...:( (even my title is wrong, need morale boosting, not moral boosting ! (lol)

    Hey Wiz.

I had to look this one up. How did you decide on this tank? There are a lot of these types of systems, even the most popular ones come with their own set of idiosyncrasies.

My favorite vape still comes from the punched cartomizer in a carto tank. Even with that, cartomizers differ from one batch to the next.

Your looking for exact consistency in a sea of ever changing variables. Ain't gonna happen :)

You're using an electrical charger, which may or may not be consistent over time, to charge a chemical battery which decreases in capacity as it ages. To apply ever decreasing voltage and amperage to a wire coil that decreases in efficiency as it ages and gets molecularly corrupted with juice and heat. To vaporize a liquid through a wick which decreases in efficiency with old juice build up and minute charring due to continued heat. In a container that has different pressures at any given time by volume and intensity of your vape.

I am surprised you don't (or at least haven't mentioned) use of any rebuildables. One benefit I find in it is the level of control I can exert over the performance... especially now with the popularity of high wattage box mods, and way airy rda's - its more fun than ever!

I haven't used tanks in a while (about 8 months) and I was trying to mimic the vapor production off of my original setup - it was a fraction of a second pull. Just a thought - if you're seeking control and consistency, perhaps the soldiers need to march to a different beat? More fiddling but satisfying nonetheless (with proper amount if fiddling heh)

Also, has your pallete been completely compromised? Are there any particular flavors you can taste more than others? Or is it an overall deadening?

Smacuser,.....I have an Ego C. It is a tank with a hole that pokes into an atomizer. I have tried lots of other things but I like this the best. Is this what you mean? I would recommend it to older people (like myself) because it is so simple.

    I totally get that.

You upgraded from an eGo-C tank (single coil?) system to the Gimlet (dual coil). I asked how you came across the Gimlet to see if maybe you found it online or at a local shop. Not that should it matter, except either you researched it for yourself or a person at a counter recommended it to you based on what they thought you needed (or wanted to sell you).

But in the end, perhaps it is a situation of variables in mass production we all have had to accept in vaping and move forward. As this technology continues to mature, it should get better.

As an aside, you might already know that single vs. dual coil will make the same type of battery behave differently.

Well put. And toss in that the OPs twist types may not (probably don't!) give the same exact voltage at the same settings.

I didn't mean I switch out the whole Gimlet unit, my bad I meant I screw in another dual coil ... sorry. I wasn't given any recommendation to try a Gimlet, I simply wanted a 5 ml clearo and liked the idea of not even needing to decide on what coils to use as the Gimlet must use it's own dual coil setup. .... that dual coils change battery hit strength is another variable I'd not considered either ....

ok, now this is the best answer to me in my opinion and makes perfect sense ... thank you .. (still ,after reading that it remains a wonder we can repeat family food recipies or start our cars with consistent regularity ... and how the heck did Pepsi, Jello, Coca Cola, and Heinz ever become famous with the explanation of the variables (lol)
