Like many vapers on this forum, I don't think it is right for companies to clone authentic products but there is nothing we can do. They are, in this case, 10 times cheaper and many cannot afford to spend hundreds on vaping but still want to be able to experience it and i don't blame them. Whatever works for you is fine, because at the end of the day, you know what you have, whether it's authentic or a clone.
I have had my SS King mod for quite some time now and when i heard about the King clone, I decided to get and compare with the real deal just for lulz. Now my King mod never really hit hard and i have consulted Surefire Vapor and was told i got sent one with a "faulty spring" and haven't received a replacement yet so I cannot comment on the performance difference between the 2. But the King Clone does hit really hard.
Mod details:
Authentic
SS King #484 $230
Nimbus V3 $65.99
Innovape Missile Drip Tip (Maverick) $20
Clone (FREE SHIPPING TOO!)
Brass King Clone #443 (randomized) $25.29
Gold Nimbus Clone (1 air hole) $5.45
Brass Drip Tip $2.38
Overview:
Here's my mini review on these 2 mechanical mods, as stated above my authentic king is having some problems so i cannot comment on its performance but I can say that the clone that comes with silver pin hits really really hard. Threading on the clone is not as smooth as the authentic but its pretty good for what its worth. Certain tubes are interchangeable and certain are not. Contact pins on the clone is slightly bigger so those are not interchangeable. The authentic King came with reverse threading while the clone doesn't. The firing button will not fire when unlocked if left standing with an atomizer on the authentic King but the clone will fire by itself. As for the nimbus clone, it works but is garbage compared to the real deal.
Here are some pictures:
Here is an overview of what the 2 mods look like side by side.
You will notice that the Lion emblem and the serial number fonts are slightly different.
The word "KING" is slightly wider on the clone.
The octagon ring on the clone is slightly thinner. The nimbus Logo on the clone is also different.
The authentic King came with copper contact pins while the clone came with silver pins. They are NOT interchangeable because the clone's pin size is slightly bigger.
Needless to say the Clone did not come in "Made in the U.S.A"
The nimbus came with a juice well to catch excess e liquid while the gold chimbus doesn't.
Here's an inside view.
Hope you guys enjoyed it.
