I took it. I fear however that this will amount to absolutley zero. If TBob saw this (and Im suprised he hasnt commented yet) Im sure he'd have a field day with it.
So, unless Im missing something, all I can say is that the FDA isnt going to consider for one second the results from an online survey which was made using "SurveyMonkey, free online surveys"...in which anyone could have answered, lied about, or distorted.
What the FDA wants is 7 years of scientific studies with live participants who are studied and monitored closely with hard evidence to support those findings. This survey constitutes nothing more than a waste of the FDA's time. Again, unless I've missed something in the fine print.

My best,

Surveys can provide valuable information, but it worries me that the stated purpose for this is to "demonstrate to the FDA that they should invest in research funding."

The FDA itself does none of the testing; FDA scientific panels merely examine the clinical test results the drug companies present to them. Drug companies fund all the research and conduct the trials themselves.

A better use for the survey results would be to compile the results, have a statistician provide the appropriate verification of the validity of the data (and yes, it can be done, even with SurveyMonkey), and then write a scientific article to be submitted to a journal such as tobacco Control.

There is a link to view the survey results, but nothing is displayed.
