Is low-nicotine Marlboro snus really snus?

I had not read this article myself until just today. Thanks to matsnuffs over to snuffhouse.org for bringing it to my attention.

All information we've seen before, but what struck me was just how concise this particular article is.

I'll second that. What scares me about the whole article is how you could see this playing out considering the pressure they're putting on e-cigs and the PACT act. I could see BT and BP working with the FDA and making getting Swedish snus difficult if not impossible. Maybe there's more to delivering inadequate levels of Nic in conjunction with low PH levels.

The FDA decides Swedish snus is too dangerous at its current Nic levels. Low nicotine US snus doesn't cut it and E-cigs get banned and we're back to the choice, BT or BP.

I dunno hittman, I've been in and around government for most of my adult life and while it's true that some individuals are quite Machiavellian, the bureaucracy as a whole is remarkably ponderous in motion and pathologically bad at keeping policy secrets. Most real changes I've seen just evolve through a series of bad decisions at many levels rather than at the hands of a single guiding force at the top.

I think part of the reason I sleep so well at night is that experience has taught me that Uncle is just too bad at it to do much in the way of global conspiracies. Congress and the president can do what they will, but the vast bureaucracy are the ones really carrying on the work of government and the careerists have a vested interest in moderating some of the wilder policy swings dreamed up by the political class.

Not saying they don't make some boneheaded decisions all around, of course.

just testing the water...I tried some camel snus (and promptly pitched it) and got the trial pack from general...then started looking to see if there was anywhere around here that actually carried it or any other swedish snus..
that's about as far as I've gotten

it had 4 foil packs in it, each with 3 portions...1 white portion, 1 wintergreen portion, 1 mint, and 1 dry mini mint...so a pretty good cross sampling though heavy on the mints..was supposed to have original in there instead of the mint but I guess the mint is newish..and I too am leaning toward the wintergreen or the mint.. I'll have to check out that get snus offer..

I think I'm gonna talk to my tobaccanist friend and my friend in sweden and see what options they have for me too

Edit: well that explains that...apparently northerner took over getsnus...did away with the trial can for a $1...apparently while I was trying to order ...lol
