Sweetener...

I see plenty of recipes calling for "TFA Ethyl Maltal", RTS Vapes also sells "TFA Sweetener".
1. I understand that "Sweetener" is sweeter than EM?
2. Is this a substitute for EM, or do you all use one or the other depending on the recipe?
3. In what situations would you choose to use it over EM?
4. In what situations is EM a better choice?
5. Is there ever a reason to use both in a recipe?

Good questions, I'm looking forward to the answers myself. Seems to me the EM imparts some flavor above and beyond simple sweeting. A few of us beginners were talking and to me and one other it seems to almost add a slight smokey flavor.
Is that possible?

I have and have used both, but prefer the one actually named 'Sweetner'. Seems to actually sweeten, not just imply sweetness. One drop per ml works for me.

I have also tried both, and have had much better/sweeter results with their Sweetener (sucralose) versus EM. I use 5-10% in fruit vapes (all i do for the most part) i have read about using EM for some things and sucralose for others, but have no direct experience with that other than EM didn't do it for me at any % in all the mixes I've done.

Yes you could use them both in the same recipe, taste is kind of subjective, Hoosier explains it in this blog:

Nothing but sucralose here and if the vendor just says "sweetener" and doesn't say what's in it I pass after getting some asparatame.

That works for me too.

Every cocktail I have ever made using EM ended up being slightly worse than not using it. Seems it kills the taste and blands out flavors.

I just made a batch of my 'Strawberry Cotton Candy'
I use 50 drops Strawberry and 5 drops of TFA Sweetener to 25ml.
Works for me.

I use a mix of sucralose (TPA sweetener) and Cotton Candy (EM). It gives the best of both worlds. For fruit flavors, I prefer liquid stevia. I bought my liquid stevia at Trader Joes (alcohol free).
