I have a weird question regarding the ethyl maltol. It's used in sugar free products and it is known to cause gastro-intestinal distress (gas etc).

Would that happen if you vaped it?
I would think for someone who already has gastric intestinal sensitivity it might hve a good chance of making you feel crappy

The sweetner that Geoff sells is the same, unless he gets it from someone else now, is from Perfumers Apprentice. I have some Ez-sweetz and it is much more concentrated than PA's/TV's. Both Ez-Sweetz and PA's/TV's are made with Sucralose. The amount needed to sweeten a recipe is very little. Most people would probably only need to add 1 to 2 drops. I have been using it for over 2 weeks and haven't had any problems with my atomizers or my health. I ordered some from TV when he first started selling it and I added a lot and it didn't seem to do anything. Ethol Maltol tastes sweet but to me has a chemical taste to it. You can get Ez-sweetz at www.ez-sweetz.com and they offer a free 6 ml sample.

If you have a Henry's Marketplace near you they sell liquid Stevia. I have some but it has a wierd taste. Maybe they used PGA in the distilling process.

I am trying to replicate a perfect "Djarum Special Clove" and I am very close but it seems like a little sweetness is missing....I look forward to your reviews JustKryssi!!!

I posted a recipe for Kretek. I wonder if its similar to yours. Ez-Sweetz will for sure give you that extra sweetness. When I ordered Kretek from TV I asked Geoff to make it strong flavor and sweet when he 1st started selling it. It had great flavor but didn't taste sweet to me.

VapingMatt...I am using 4 drops of Eugenol in 10 mls of VG/H2O mix, with 7-8 drops of DIY FS clove and 5-6 drops of Redhots....so far, it is the closest thing I have found but am waiting on my Kretek from Geoff....I think I am missing the sweet component and also perhaps a little tobacco flavor.....would love to find someone with a tiny amount of TV's RY4 to add a little "caramel" tobacco flavor to the mix

DIY Flavorshack's clove juice is just clove and maybe a little bit of liquorice. I have a 20 ml bottle of it that I can't stand vaping. IT is SO strong. I don't know why I haven't tossed it yet. Geoff's is much closer to the analog. I devloped my recipe around how his tasted. Since he gets most of his flavors from Linda at PA, I was able to taste the individual flavors since I tasted it before it aged. You will like Geoff's. I do not think Geoff sells Ry-4 caramel. Dawn sells it but I think its from China since she ran out and it took 2 weeks to get it and she doesn't sell it as a DIY flavor concentrate. Geoff's tobacco is not a strong flavor at least to my taste. Its more an undertone. Be careful not to go over 35% VG. The Eugenol will separate and with it not being evenly distributed, it could kill your atomizer. The best tobacco flavor I have tasted was from a sample I got from Pure Smoker Tonic liquid. If you like TV's Kretek, try using my recipe. I am curious to see if you think it tastes like his.

Thanks! Can't beat $3 to try it out :)

I am type II diabetic and have used Splenda for a while. Though I DO have a headache that never goes away, I wonder if that is related to the sucralose as others have complained about it. I have had no other symptoms though. hmmmmm.

I also eat a lot of Splenda and have a headache a lot. I did read that it is bad for you and some people say it caused anxiety, which I've had also. I tried to go back to sugar, that didn't work, tried Truvia, that's a pretty good option, but I LOVE Jello sugar free pudding and it is loaded with Splenda. I've tried liquid Stevia in flavors like orange cream, but they still have that bitter aftertaste. I can't win with anything!

But I have the TV liquid sucralose and I add it to my DIY mixes and premixed liquid that I think isn't sweet enough. I also have Perfumer's Apprentice cotton candy, which is basically just liquid ethyl maltol. I use that to add to stuff also.

Which of the 2 sweeteners do you prefer?

You can get Ez-sweetz at www.ez-sweetz.com and they offer a free 6 ml sample.

That sounds good, but I wonder about its ingredients and how safe they are to vape or how safe they are for your atty.
According to their website, the ingredients of this ez-sweetz is this:

 • Filtered Water
 • Sucralose
 • Potassium Sorbate
 • Succinic Acid
 • Sodium Benzoate
 • Citric Acid

So, what do you guys think about this stuff?? Is it all safe or not?

Ok, so I got the liquid sucralose. I am not a fan. It has a really chemically aftertaste to it.

I much prefer the EM, which doesn't cause me any intestinal problems, but if you're sensitive to sugar alcohols, YMMV.

What a disappointment!

That sucks. Did you just add a drop or two?

Did it taste bad and cause a reaction or just taste bad? I have a really weak stomach with a bad sweet tooth :(
