Yeah, Kryssi, you could just get the cotton candy from perfumer's apprentice:

Perfumers Apprentice - Cotton Candy Flavor

It's easier than buying ethyl maltol crystals and dissolving them yourself. And her prices are really good.

I actually like the taste of sucralose. I must be sick in the head. Yeah, probably.

LOL, that's why I heart you though!!:p

My hubby likes it too so I'll keep it for him. For me, it's off to PA to order the cotton candy flavor!

Thank you very much for the tip!

 Aw, I heart you too! And be sure when you order, to click the link on the left that says "Flavors in development". You can pick three and she'll send you them free just for your feedback on whether they are good enough to carry.

She also carries bottles, and I just noticed she added sampler packs of flavors, too.

FYI, The EM from Dawn at DIY flavor shack is already a liquid. This added to nic liguid does make a very rich cotton candy. Or added to PG or VG makes a nice "snack".

Do you mean that you eat it like jam or honey?

I mix my own from PA crystals and find it a nice addition to coffee. Gives it both a richness and a mellowing. I'm hoping it doesn't have lots of calories.

Is this safe? Never heard of eating it but it doesn't seem like an issue....

I don't know about buying it as a liquid it was very easy to make tons of it with a tiny bit of crystals it isn't hard to do either...

I have not used it like jam....yet.. If I made it with VG then I do not think it would hurt you. If you look up PG and EM you will see it is in a lot of food we eat already.

I do agree that EM makes all my e-juice have a smother and richer taste.

By"snack" you can mix it with just PG or VG and have a no-nic treat....Vaped

Snacks of 0 nicotine is smart with how much we vape, continuing nicotine is one thing, but going up a lot makes ecigs sound a bit scary!

The sweetner that Geoff sells is the same, unless he gets it from someone else now, is from Perfumers Apprentice. I have some Ez-sweetz and it is much more concentrated than PA's/TV's. Both Ez-Sweetz and PA's/TV's are made with Sucralose. The amount needed to sweeten a recipe is very little. Most people would probably only need to add 1 to 2 drops. I have been using it for over 2 weeks and haven't had any problems with my atomizers or my health. I ordered some from TV when he first started selling it and I added a lot and it didn't seem to do anything. Ethol Maltol tastes sweet but to me has a chemical taste to it. You can get Ez-sweetz at www.ez-sweetz.com and they offer a free 6 ml sample.

If you have a Henry's Marketplace near you they sell liquid Stevia. I have some but it has a wierd taste. Maybe they used PGA in the distilling process.

Thanks! I ordered some ez-sweets to try it out.

So...where do I get the PGA for the EM?

So...where do I get the PGA for the EM?

The text in the quote in your post said "PG". Do you mean PGA which is pure grain alcohol to dissolve the EM crystals or do you mean propylene glycol? If you mean PGA, most use Everclear which is basically an undiluted vodka at about 190 proof. This is not available in some states including mine. I use Maui Rum "Da Bomb" which comes in at 155 proof and imparts an interesting taste. I doubt if its widely available outside of Hawaii but there are other 'overproof' rums available.

If you mean PG, pharmacies sell it though you may need to be a bit assertive to have the pharmacist order it for you.

Or pay a little more and order online...

You can get Ez-sweetz at www.ez-sweetz.com and they offer a free 6 ml sample.

Thanks for the tip. I ordered and received the 6ml sample (for $3.95 shipping cost).

I mixed one drop into 30ml of water to give it a taste test and -- whoa, sweet! Real sweet, damn' sweet!

It had a little 'artificial sweetener' taste but not bad. It'll be usable, in very small amounts. Probably use a syringe with a fine gage needle and measure it out in tiny drops. It would be very easy to get too much if you used big drops directly from the bottle.

I mixed 1/8th tsp of PA's EM with 10mls of PG but I have no idea how much of this solution I should use. If it adds depth what is the average range you add to your mixes? Thanks

I did some research on Stevia and it looks like there are several different ingredients that are used depending on the mfg. I bought 2 - 2 oz bottles that is in a glycerin base. Taylor's Nutrition @ Amazon.com: liquid stevia

It really improves the taste and adds just the right amount of sweetness. I don't notice an aftertaste or chemical taste but I only use 1 drop up to 15ml of e-juice.

I also got the free sample of EZ-Sweets but I haven't tried it because I'm so pleased with the liquid stevia.

That's a good point and I think I'll dilute some of the EZ-Sweet and also some of the stevia with PG in 10ml bottles.

I'm a little confused because you quoted my mention of using it in coffee but I think you are asking about vaping mixes, right? If so, while I have some in VG, I usually mix it to maximum saturation in alcohol as recommended in this forum, then mix this at around 20% with VG, using this mix at around 20% of a final juice mix then adding some tobacco flavor and one or more of the flavors commonly found in candy bars. I think of the EM as giving an optimistic sheen to the final mix. Unlike most, I'm not trying to recreate a food or cigarette taste; more like trying for the vape equivalent of an orchestra playing a chord. The EM becomes my violins. Hope I'm not getting too weird and ethereal about it.

Parenthetically, I, like many others enjoy the way the EM melds with the slight sweetness of VG. I don't have much experience mixing it directly with PG.

If you are asking about the coffee; I use 4 drops of my EM/alcohol mix in a double macchiato. Don't know how much one would use in a cup of American coffee, probably 2 drops.

I love this analogy! You're so right, too. It isn't food and it isn't cigarettes, so it's in a world of its own when it comes to flavoring and the overall experience. All of us in our little "home laboratories" that are mixing this, that, and the other thing are all on sort of a quest for the holy grail of flavors...

I made up my usual DIY Mountain Dew flavor, but this time I used EZ Sweetz instead of the Splendex I usually add.

This mix is:
6 mL unflavored 36mg nic
3 mL PA MD flavoring
1 mL glycerin
2 drops sweetener

I feel like someone is sitting on my chest. I have pain when breathing, almost like pneumonia, without coughing. This started within 4-5 hours of beginning to vape this new bottle of mix. I had vaped less than 1 ml of the mix when the pain started last night. I had a pretty uncomfortable time trying to sleep, and pain was still present this morning. It just dawned on me what the cause may be. I hope the lung irritaion will clear up on its own...

The only difference between this mix and the others is EZ Sweetz vs Splendex.

I searched out the ingredients and they are the same in both sweeteners, but their concentrations must be different since they are listed in different sequences.

I am not an alarmist, but a scientist by profession. This incident would qualify as a pretty good reason to investigate a causal relationship between the sweetener ingredients and the symptoms (if the number of affected individuals was >1).

Since others here seem to have used EZ Sweetz without adverse effects, it might just be me and my particular physiological and metabolic idiosyncracies.

Interesting, where did you find the Splendex ingredients? I found an unreliable source that listed these as the ingredients: Purified Water, Sucralose, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate.

EZ-Sweetz lists these: Purified Water, Sucralose, Potassium Sorbate, Succinic Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid.
