Hello everyone,

This is going to be my first mod.... And I am going ALL OUT. I am probably in WAY over my head, but "in for a penny in for a pound". It is going to be a large desk model. I am going for almost pure function over form. My intended goal is to make something that "WORKS" and does everything. The pictuer in my head is THIS. I wanted somthing to run on any avail power source wall, 3.7v AA, or Hugh maH 2-3 cell RC lipos. I wanted to have 510 and 901 atty compatability. With 2x 510's, 1 mounted on top like normal and 1 mounted on the large surface where the display would go. This addition is so I can attach my Scuba Gen V3 to it and lay it down flat with the scuba tank straght up, no leaks and won't fall over. I threw in the USB for use with V4L PT and my EGO VV PT. I watch a lot of TV and sitting there killing 1 16430 after another seems silly, So I can hook up my 5000maH lipo and no worries.

Anticipated parts needed:
Project box from Mad vapes supersized with batt door
2xAA holder rafio shack
2x510 Connectors sealed prewired MadVapes 1x901 connector will seal with dot of solder Mad vapes
1xFemale USB connector Junk drawer
1xLipo checker Mad Vapes
2xOn Off On toggle (1xsmicr and 1 mini)
1xOn On On selector (pwr source selection)Int Batt/Ext batt/Wall Adapter
1x5amp horn style push button Mad vapes
Handful of LED's and resistors
2xVV curcuit boards Ebay (1xsuare wire leads, 1xrectangle w/Solder points)

I an still waiting on some parts, but will staret this thread now as I form a picture of what I want to end up with. The thread with hopefully serve to oder my thoughts and as a side benefit possibly entertain akk of YOU!

Please note that I derive great enjoyment from the failures of others, so I fully expect to be Taunted and laughed at as well. Please feel free to get in a jab or two, But if you do, Helpful suggestion and constructive critisism is also much appreciated.

Youssefa, you da man for taking on the monster build right out of the gate...your gonna fail tons (but I've made over dozen mods and still fail at an epic level, lol)...the desk model is the best way to go here, you've got lots of real estate to play with so the frustration level maybe tolerable...you are going to need a common connection schema for all your various power inputs, there's lots to choose from, co-axial, rca, molex...pick one and go with it...it'll make things way easier and less chance of cooking parts, also, I'd suggest going with a robust reg to deal with varying voltage inputs, check here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/247184-list-mod-coverters-newbs.html ...also, pick up a meter so you know what's going to your atty...I'm following this build, keep us posted

I used a female USB on my first mod with external source, but since then have used the 2.1mm. The LM2596 has such a wide range of in voltage that I found all kinds of sources from old laptops and printers with 9 to 24 v over 2 amps and most have the 2.1mm plug. The usb female is not really made for high amps but it does work.

If true you live a pathetic existence.....

Ya, I thought that kind of an odd comment too, I'd never want to see someone struggle (too many helpful peeps here for that to really happen anyway)

...but I think I get what he meant, I post my crap "hoping for criticism"...there's always a better way to skin a cat (sorry cat people, weirdo's)

When I come across someone here who is genuinely trying to create but has "yet" to develop the skills needed and makes either a paper weight or worse, a potentially dangerous piece of gear and frustratedly posts a "help please"...well I guess I'm a self deluded liar then, because you're f%$kin' rights, I feel bad for the dude (or dudette) and will help if I can...this is a community Youssefa, it's a place to come and exchange idea's, learn and feel included...I hope not everyone here is as entertained by the misery of others...why would peeps post their ideas good or bad in that kind of landscape? I need them, my best ideas come from people who have no idea what they're doing...
