So I've been wanting to quit smoking for years now but knew cold turkey would not work, I've tried before but it doesn't take long for me to say "One more wouldn't hurt" then end up right back where I started. I've been smoking Marlboro reds for 16 years now and was up to a pack and a half per day which is becoming way too expensive not to mention making me feel like I'm dying in the morning.

I decided to research a good starter kit for E-cigarettes and went with the Ego-c, CE4 clearomizers, and watermelon 18nic 85pg 15vg e-juice all from myfreedomsmokes. The first couple puffs were pretty good but throughout the day I started getting these really harsh draws that would leave a burning feeling in the back of my throat, or a draw with no flavor at all, or I'd end up with e-juice in my mouth. I changed the clearomizer and that seemed to fix the harsh draws but I still get the no flavor draw if I don't tip the thing upside down before taking a puff which leaves me open for the e-juice in the mouth problem. I'm also not used to taking soft draws, wish I could take a quick hard draw like a real cigarette.

Any suggestions on what I can replace the ce4 clearomizers with that will eliminate the problems above and hopefully not cost too much? Its been 2 days without a cigarette so far but I'm really forcing myself to keep using this thing.

Thanks.

Yeah, the CE4s are a joke. I use the CE5s and do just fine. I have one CE4 around here. In a drawer. Somewhere. :)

I checked and MyFreedomSmokes has the CE5s over this way: CE5 eGo Clearomizer with Changeable, Replaceable Heads, Coils, and Wicks. Easy to take apart, rinse out, clean up, reuse. And the coil heads are replaceable (easily, everything just screws together, no tools needed). If the coil burns out in a CE4, you toss the whole thing into the trash. What a waste.

I see folks recommend the Kanger EVOD all the time. It's very well liked. Haven't tried it myself but I'm gonna get one to see why everybody loves 'em so much. I'm sure you'll see the EVOD recommended in this thread (if it hasn't already been mentioned several times :) ). There's also the Vision Mini Vivi Nova that's a nice one. I have one and it works great. Only thing I don't like about it is that kind of "barrel" shape makes my battery look "top heavy". That's purely personal preference on my part. It works great.

Oh, yeah, MyFreedomSmokes has a whole page of clearo options here: eGo Cartos/Clearos.

I see they have EVODs for $6. Oh and they have the LED light up clearos. I want one so bad. It's so stupid and pointless but I want one! :D

ANY Top coil tank/clearo - You have to constantly tip/twirl to keep the wicks well saturated.
Doing so will produce the same Vape from full tank to empty, but it takes practice.

You know, I have CE5s and I don't have that much in terms of wicking issues. Don't have to tip/twirl much. And I've nearly emptied a clearo a time or two (just not paying attention) and the wicks will be quite saturated still.

Hm. Maybe varies with the juice and PG/VG ratio?

Am getting interested in bottom coil though. Does seem a bit backward to have to "wick" the juice to the top instead of using gravity to do the work.

Ah well, my budget forbids experimenting with hardware this summer. And it's getting mean about it too. I think my checkbook tried biting me this morning...

I use CE5's all day everyday and I have never had wicking issues. They are iClear16's, I prefer the top coil though. I have one Kanger MT3 and I hate it! The more I used it the more I loathed it LOL, now it sits on my desk and looks cool. I just couldn't handle the airy draw and cool vape. I guess it's personal preference. I had a couple CE4's as well and had no trouble with them till I tried a thick juice, then it was just burn taste. I have found 80/20 works great in CE4's and CE5's though....
