Switches???

Looking for links for quality switches. I have a few mods that I need to repair/replace. Can anyone suggest a replacement switch and wires for a Bolt? Also, I need a switch for a 18650 vv Gripper. I also plan on replacing the battery door with a screw-on spring loaded cap I may even take the guts out and mod into a new enclosure if I can't get that to work. I would prefer black switches. TIA

For wire, go to Home Depot or Lowes and find a sales associate in the electrical section. Tell him you need 22/4 security cable. They sell it by the foot for about $0.50/ft. 22/4 means that there are 4 strands of 22g wire inside of the outer jacket. Strip the outer jacket away and you usually get Red, Black, White, and Green wires inside. The advantage of stripping a multi-conductor cable is that the insulator on the individual wires is usually thinner and makes it much easier to work with.

The Gripper's switch is a 12mm x 12mm tactile switch. You'll need to measure the plunger height before ordering.

Have you tried these to make sure they fit? I have not, but looking at the datasheet it will be VERY close on the depth and I never measured the hole diameter of the bolt.

They are the same diameter and length as the switch in the silver bullet, which is roughly the size of the bolt (I think). You can also grind down the back of the switch some and solder instead of set screw the contacts. I have one of the black ones in my Mantis.


edit - I guess the bolt is 12mm mounting hole so your limited to the horn type buttons
