The ulcers are caused by high acidity levels in your mouth.

I experienced the same issue, ulcers inside my cheeks, sore and swollen tongue and sensitive bleeding gums.

When you smoked you were adding alkalinity to your mouth and the digestive glands in your mouth produced more acid to compensate. When you suddenly stopped smoking it created a surplus of digestive acids in your mouth.

As stated in a previous post, this will correct itself, all remedies mentioned will merely help manage the discomfort. In time your body will "balance" the levels of acid in your mouth on it own. It lasted roughly 2-3 weeks for me, but we are all diffrent.

There is a strong correlation between how abruptly you stop smoking and your chances of dealing with this experience. The more abruptly, the more likely. However many people possess naturally low acidity levels and will not experience the sores at all.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with the vaping, just the absence of the alkalinity provided by the carbon in the analog smoke.

Hope this clears this up for everyone.
