I've been lurking around the boards and people post about modifying new Stardusts 2.0 before they use them for the first time. Can someone please explain how to mod it so that it works and lasts? Any tips for optimum vaping?
Can you take apart the SD? The inside pieces are sold separately, so I'm assuming it's possible to take apart to clean? Are the SD's as easy to clean as a Vivi Nova 2.5?
Will be using 650mAh eGo Twist batteries with the Stardust. Never tried this set-up before. I'm switching from KR808.
Thank you
Welcome, and congrats on vaping and stepping up to vv and "stardusts".
It will come apart easily. No mod is really necessary to start with, I don't think. You will however want to rinse it out every day or two depending on the juice you're using, and do a dry burn every 2 or 3 days also. When I switched to a high PG juice however I did get a little flooding/gurgling so I emptied it took it apart, and added a few strands of cotton cheesecloth down the slots of the centre tube to rest on top of the coil. It stopped the flooding and helped the wicking.
Be aware though, the cotton will need to be removed before dry burning and replaced afterwards. It "will" burn if it isn't soaked with juice.
When you first begin vaping the SD's start at a lower voltage and gradually work your way up if you like. There is a break-in period with these and they perform better after some use.
I find the 2.8ohm heads work better if you want to vape over 4 volts or so. A 2.4ohm head
comes installed in the SD to begin with and won't perform well at higher voltages.
I can get many weeks out of only one head by cleaning it regularly and not overheating it too excessively during dry burning.

AAAAND....don't inhale on the first few pulls, and allow the vape to linger in your mouth and nose after a bit to taste the flavour better. It can be quite strong in your nose, beware!
I tend to top up regularly, never letting it go much below half and I'll also fill to "just above" the wicks. If I overfill or juice gets into the center tube, gently blow from the top into a tissue and dry the connector end well, before re-attaching.
After a few top-ups I'll vape to below half and dump out the 1/2 mil. of stanky juice and rinse out. Usually every couple of days. I'll also dab the wicks with tissue after rinsing to quicken the dryburn process.
Always remove from the batt. when topping up. You'll learn as you go what works best for you! Now! I'm done, haha.
