Hi Guys
I have been using magnets in the switch for sometime now, and from day one have been getting misfires most of the time......I have been having to wiggle the button about and cleaning all the GGTS thinking it was bad contacts, However I put back the original spring today and now it hits every time.
Any ideas why this should be ?.......... with the magnets fitted the button was very wobbly and I think was not making the contacts .:?:

Same thing happens on my GGTS with magnets, granted it's not bad, but misfires occasionally. It's not a big deal to me and i'd rather have the magnets there than a spring.
Right well I am glad its not only me....................I have cleaned the magnets and the GG its become like a full time job with the magnets in lol I will stick with the spring I think ,thanks for the reply`s.

I originally never had a problem with magnets when I used 3 in a switch.
I now have 3 devices (GGTS x2 and GGTB) with two sets of magnets and I am currently using 2 in each device.
Much lighter to press but I AM now getting occasional misfires. I never had the issue with three magnets.

My only thought for this is that perhaps there is surface buildup on the pin/switch contact surfaces that is preventing an electrical connection when lightly contacted. Pushing my switch HARD or wiggling as I push seems to fix it. Maybe the extra pressure required to activate with three magnets somehow gets past this surface buildup without being noticed.

IF my guess is something close to correct for my occasional misfire, perhaps your magnets are weak? I do realize that I am making a second guess based on my first guess.

Just thoughts I have had and I have not done anything to test this out- but I will eventually be buying more magnets.

magnets work like this: the one we put first inside button's case touch the bottom of the button's case. When we press the button the second magnet and the third one push the bottom magnet so the bottom magnet tries to escape but he cant do it because of the pin inside ιτ. So it touch the pin that has current and the bottom of the button's case. So curent goes from the battery to pin, then to the magnet, then to the button's case and then to the GG body.

If magnets are weak then there is not enough pressure between metals to transfer the current from the battery. Thats why 3 magnets are good but 2 are not very good. Also the distance between magnets is very important because the smaller the distance between them the bigger the forse between metals so better connection.

Misfires can occur if magnets are dirty.

I'm using magnets on my GGTS and not
cleaning them so often. NEVER misfires!!
But i use all 3 of them and they are all
OPPOSITE.
You should try this. it's a little trickie but works great :)

And as a note- this is the way I set up with 3 magnets- a bit of extra PUSH and I like that.
The only reason I have not ordered more yet is I don't need anything else from VK right NOW- and mine are working well enough with 2...
Though I may switch one unit back to a spring after reading Imeos post. ;)

I don't have MAJOR problems- occasional misfires that are fixed by wiggling the finger I use on the switch.
I never HAD problems with three magnets installed, only when I tried 2 in each device.

Not a major problem but it is a minor inconvenience, so whenever I need to order fro VK again I will order more magnets.... if they have any in stock. ;)

Just need to spread out the shipping costs a bit. ;)

Imeo I`m not complaining at all !! I am sooooo happy with my GG ...............perhaps I will try them all opposites and give them a clean up, they should be strong as only had them for 3/4 months
I have all 3 with magnetic poles repelling each other and they never miss fire. I really like the feel of it that way too.

They always be strong as the first day, cause magnets never lose their power.
that's the benefit of magnet switch.
