Maybe I'll try the magnets again but I went back to the springs because the difficulty of making contact with the pin, and to be honest it still doesn't make very good contact and I am growing tired of ramming the button into the pin, but it improved markedly when I put the spring back in so I am extremely reluctant to try them again.:(

Do you vape low ohms atomizers at big volts Nandy? And you take inhales one after the other?

Imeo I vape low resistance attys with 3.7 and the heat is almost instantaneous after the first hit and its is really hot i have to hurry to disassemble the ggts before I got burned. Thats was with red AW 18650, green Tenergy 18650 and gray Ultra Fire 18650 on my old GGTS, I had not tested the magnets on my newer GGTS.

@nancyDC, what atomizer are you using, i.e. 510, 901, etc? a lot of times the button or tubing getting hot has to do with a short caused at the atomizer or from the spring (i.e. the spring touching the side of the tube). it's unlikely that it's the spring in the GG units because of their length and how they are seated, but the atomizer or an aftermarket adapter can be a culprit if it is screwed on too tight and a direct short develops. does the atomizer appear to have been dislodged at all from the silicone grommet on the underside (adapter side), or are you using an aftermarket adapter at all, like a 510 -901 on the GGTS or 901-510 on the GGTB?

when the tubing gets hot it means the batteries are hot, and when the batteries are hot, even warm, it's because a short has occurred and the batteries have discharged rapidly. if this is the case then the there could be an issue with the safety of the batteries and even their ability to maintain the charge. check them with a multimeter if possible. but it sounds like an atomizer or adapter issue that may have caused a direct short resulting in the battery discharge and instantaneous heating of the tube and/or button.

Looks like I will have to buy the spring...I have same issue with magnets and it is very frustrating.

Before you give up on the magnets, take your switch apart and mic the magnets. I'll bet dollars to do-nuts you've got at least one that's a bit over sized and causing it to hang up. I found, on a couple of mine, the magnets were .05mm too large. I make sure mine are .05 UNDER sized and have never had a misfire since.
