Which doggy does everyone recommend? The SJMY is the one with the less restricted airflow? I have a Provari Mini coming & trying to find a good companion for it. Thanks everyone!

I can't tell much of a difference, but I prefer more air as a rule (so Smidgies for me).

Which is preferred acrylic or PC tank?

I like the foggy one best (can't remember which is which).

Regarding both the atty and tank, I'll take either, and happily too. My "preferences" are very light, and almost inconsequential to me.

Any advice on a build for the SXK 2k16? I use a DIY NET e-liquid with essentially 95% VG 5% PGA. Tried 28 gauge and 30 gauge Kanthal spaced 5-6 wraps 3mm id. Very tight draw. 9-10 watts. Have been getting the gurgles. Also seems the coil is gunking up faster, even for a NET...

I like a cool vape, preferably something I can use on a mech mod as well. Oh, and some fries with that, thanks.

if the draw is tight and the wick isn't perfect you could be sucking the juice through

Try adding 1 or 2 more wraps to your coil and see it that helps. Also try more watts.

I personally use a 2.5mm ID, 7 wrap, 28 gauge build in my 2k16's. Like you, low wattage (lower, actually...7.5W) and a tight draw. May get the occasional gurgle, but nothing to write home about. As someone suggested, you may be drawing in too hard for the amount of wicking you have. But, with a 3mm ID coil, I'd suspect your cotton it pretty tight in the wick channels unless you thinned.

That said, I'd try a smaller diameter coil. It could be with the 3mm ID, and the associated amount of cotton, you have an excess of juice getting to the coil that your low wattage isn't completely vaporizing (which may also be causing the coil to gunk up quicker). Add that to the increased pressure from a tight draw, and you could get the gurgles.

Usually, these tanks are pretty forgiving...I just "cut it and stuff it" when it comes to cotton.

As far as NETs. That's all I vape, and I need to dry burn and rewick once per day. I can get 2 days if I don't really care....just as info.

Thanks for the advice, just cleaned the Doggystyle; will try this out. How far do you raise your coil?

Add me in as another who uses a smaller id coil - I go for 28ga ss316l 2.25mm id, 6 wraps spaced.

And for coil placement, 1 or 2mm above the airflow hole. I go as low as I can without it shorting ;)

Like AngeNZ, as low as I can without shorting. Probably ends up 1-2mm above the air hole. It's a good test for your eyesight, at the very least...I've since learned I'm way overdue for and eye exam, and I'm reminded each freakin' time I coil this bugger. ;)

I would drop that inner diameter to either 2mm or 2.5mm... and add 2-3 more wraps. I use 30gauge on mine. I personally feel 30 gauge gives a little more flavor than 28 gauge on mtl tanks. It's just a personal preference me thinks.

Ok, so I tried this build, still getting the gurgles. Not thinning out the tails. Just stuffed them in. Might try to cram more in next go.

Tried opening the airflow a little more as well. Helped a little, but still gurgles.

Chewed up two o-rings removing and reinstalling the airflow ring. Trying without the bottommost o ring next time.

You can open up the base without removing or chewing up the A/F ring, CAAB. Just use the little screwdriver KD method. Easy peasy!

Next step is to check o-rings in the chamber and tank. There's a metal rim on top of the tank, and the chamber screws into that. Push a finger or tissue into the chamber, unscrew the top rim, and replace the o-ring on the top of the chamber. Screw the chamber back in as tight as possible

If the o-ring spits out when you tighten, use a slightly smaller size.

The pup and I got along great! 28ga 2mm id 1.3 ohms @ 13.5 watts. Up and running in no time. Digging the airflow and the low profile. Something about the crackle this tank gives, I can see becoming addictive.

Wick is breaking in nice and flavor is coming in good. Close to Kayfun mini. Give it a day or so, probably order more.
