Hello:

I'm seeking solutions for some issues I'm having
after I started vaping.

1- Shortness of breath.
2- Breathing by mouth more often.
3- Feeling tired more often.
4- Dryness of mouth, nose, eyes and throat.
5- Sleeping less.
6- Heavy palpitations.
This has been aliviated by reducing amounts
nicotine to some point.
But I'm vaping more then.

This symtoms are NOT severe.
Just inconvenient.

Your input will be highly appreciated.

Thank you

Carlos.

Hello elbakan1, what ratio of pg/vg are you vaping? I know you have to stay well hydrated while vaping and I mean well hydrated. This could be the reason for your dry mouth, nose, eyes, and throat. What mg of nicotine are you vaping? this can be the cause of feeling tired more often, if it's too low. Some of your symptoms could come from the withdrawal from cigarettes. Too high a nicotine can cause palpitations which could lead to mouth breathing and shortness of breath. Or anxiety can cause the palpitations and SOB.

What's up man? I quit 2 weeks ago, I have been experiencing almost all of the same symptoms. They seem to be dissipating with each passing day. There is a section on this site I spent some time in the other night. It talks about smoking withdrawal symptoms as well as symptoms from ecigs. Very informational. I believe it was in the FAQ section. Don't remember 100%. Sorry! Good luck and stay strong.

First off, we're not doctors, if you think you have a serious problem see one.

Some of those definately sounds like too much nic, so it would make sense you got some relief from lowering it. The dryness thing is very common when vaping, drink lots of water, especially when you first start vaping. The shortness of breathe could have to do with either PG or VG in your juice. I get the same thing from high percentage VG juices if I vape them consistently, so I stopped doing that, problem gone.

Hello,

My data was incomplete.

I've been vaping for 11+ months.
Will NEVER go back to cigars, after 45 yrs.

Not concerned with health. this can't be worst than inhaling cigars.

The nicotine level has been a rollercoaster for me.
Nobody has told how to go up or down.
It's been trial and error all the time. Self-diagnosis if you will.

I started at 24mg, then 36, then 24 again.
Mixes of 6 and 9s with 24.
Now at 18.
I don't drink much liquid of any kind, but milk.
The only one I like. Was on it once for 2 yrs with no water.
Pushing some water down my throat now.

PG/VG 50/50 most of the time.
Now 70/30.

I get a check-up once a year. Coming up soon.

Again, My symptoms are not severe.

From what I gather, my situation is due to lack of guidance
as to how to increase or reduce the nic level.
And drinking water. Doable if not pleasant.

Please, help me as of how to reduce or increase nicotine.
And at what intervals
to feel some changes and receive some benefits.

Carlos.

More info:

I have a rash in my back since I switched to 70/30 imported.
My friendly local store mixes 50/50 on the spot.
Is this attributable to e-liquid?

My doctors (several) all they do is prescribe pills.
To relax, to sleep, to wake up, etc. Like Elvis.

I take the least amount of pills possible.
One of my favorite pastimes is to rip prescriptions apart.
And don't trust doctors at all.

I sip on very strong Cuban coffee all day to keep me going.
Until I fall sleep on top of the computer desk.
Wife hauls me to bed every night.
Good woman I found. the 3rd is the charmer.

Don't know if I'm repeating information,
but sure as heck I'm adding some.

I've come to realize while typing this that am A MESS.

Thank you for whatever you can do for me.

Carlos.

Go see your Doc ! Now
Meany things can have this affect on you.
Why would you jump all over the place with nicotine ? That I don't get ?
You pick a starting point 36mg or some other that works for you and if your looking to quit the nicotine then after a bit you get lower and lower till your off of it .
You must drink water every day !
For good health .
Best wishes

The shortness of breath could def be a symptom when you first quit smoking, I doubt it has to do with picking up vaping. All the dryness issues sound directly correlated to dehydration. When vaping youneed to drink ALOT of water to make sure you stay hydrated. I noticed my eyes would get very itchy and dry but they stopped when I picked up drinking more water. The sleeplessness and palpitations sound like classic nicotine od. I started vaping at 24mg and quickly moved lower because I would get light headed and/or have increased heartrate. You should try lowering your nic content if you tend to chain vape.

I understand the certain reluctance to provide " medical" advise.
Not everybody is the same. unlike doctors. Which love guinea pigs.
My wife is a doctor in nursing. Not a physician, TG.
Doctors ask and act on her recommendations all the time.
If something goes wrong, they will probably will blame her.
Hasn't happened in 30+ years, but all she needs is to be wrong 1 time.
Did I say I don't trust doctors?.
Moving right alone.
I want to express my eternal gratitude to all of you. You got it.
Classwife: that link you sent me is invaluable. Should be a sticky,
probably is. THANK YOU!!!.
Detramental: your concern for the fellowman will be rewarded even more.
Don't intend to say "the rest", as in "also ran"
but ignorance is limiting me.
Your water advise saved my life. I was going to die vaping.
Not pleasing a doctor. Thank you from THE BOTTON OF MY HEART!!!
I was going to die vaping or jumping into the next fad. Never going back.

Please, advice as much as you can with within your capabilities.
You are doing A GREAT JOB!!
Carlos.

18mg nicotine is not bad, stick with it for a while. 24 and 36 are very high, but it's all about tollerance. Some people can take it, some can't.

SERIOUSLY, if you read nothing else, read this.... DRINK A TON OF WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both PG and VG will dehydrate you! Drinking coffee all day long will dehydrate you!

I used to drink a 44oz Mountain Dew every day, it lasted most of my work day. This was after a few cups of coffee in the morning. Once I started vaping, with these same drinking habits, I started having all kinds of problems, much the same as you. Today I drink 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning and drink water ALL DAY LONG and rarely anything else. You can still have your coffee (or you'll get bad headaches), but make sure you are drinking more water than anything else!

As far as the symptoms, you should consult the doc. I do not care for water much either, so I add flavored energy (B vitamins) powder packets to a large bottle of water and take it everywhere with me. It helps a ton. I drink a LOT of coffee, which also dehydrates me, so guzzling the water in between makes me feel wonderful again. Maybe flavoring it will work for you, too. On days I forget my water, I feel weak, panicky, and like I cannot catch my breath. It's really strange.
