Just stating the limitations of T3 and nothing more. While an airy cool vape may satisfy you with the eliquid you're using, personally, I wouldn't waste my Bobas and GJ in them (prefer a tight warmer draw from my PhoenixRBA). As to rebuild them or not...well, I only mentioned it since it's rebuildable. If you're willing to pay $2+ for a replacement head instead of dealing with the hassles of rebuilding them then definitely that's your choice. But if you vape eliquids containing sweetener or oil which gunk up your coils fast and shorten the lifespan of of the wick/coil like I do, then you'll be able to appreciate the amount of savings by rebuilding them yourself.

A hot rinse is enough to clean the head? Do a dry burn after rinsing in hot water and swipe the coil with a q-tip. I'm sure you'll find plenty of burnt carbon residue on it. Now, ask yourself if you want to inhale that into your lungs...

you can't avoid that gunk in your lungs,,as soon as you vape a few times you have it in your air tube,,i have proven that to my self,,just take a few vapes with a T3 and run a pipe cleaner down the air tube and see what i mean.

i do use sweetener in my diy juices.

you can not avoid crap going in to your lungs,,no matter how new your coil or wick is.

vaping is better then smoking,,but it has its pitfalls also,,not a 100% healthy for you.

you can't even breathe in air with out inhaling pollutants in to your lungs,,,damned if you do and damned if you don't.

i see no point in having to rebuild these at the price they want for them.

i quit soaking my coils,,cause something happened to the fibers of the wick,,,so i just rinse in warm to hot water,,,i don't dry burn them ,,just rinse and use or let air dry,my self i don't see why.

I understand that many people don't want to get into rebuilding coils, but, as I have moved away from silica wicks to cotton :
[edits in bold]
Cotton twine:
370ft X12in = 4440in / 2in per rebuild = 2220 wicks. Cost per 370ft. = $5 / 2220 wicks =
$ 0.0022522522522523 per rebuilded wick.

32 awg Kanthal A-1 wire:
100ft. X 12in. = 1200in / 4in per rebuilded coil = 300 coils. Cost per 100ft.= $9 / 300 rebuilded coils =
$0.03 coil wire per rebuild.

Cost per rebuild:
$ 0.037 per rebuilded coil & wick! :thumb:

I also find the cotton wicks to be smoother for me. Still experimenting though!! At the current time I am using Butchers Twine.

I also found the T3 wicks(silica) to be very fragile and easily destroyed if you try to clean them to aggressively. They seem to be very thin.

This post applies to the Kanger T3's. I'm thinking SI's will probably be the same basic materials.

I bought wire & wick to rebuild these, but I haven't used them yet. I guess I'm pretty lazy and the factory made coils are cheap.

I do replace the loose "flavor" wicks once a week when I dry burn. If you're not careful, they can get screwed up from rinsing, and for me its just easier to replace them.

Here are my impression of [Kanger] T3s compared to other top coil clearos:

1) Better taste but cooler vape
2) Harder to clean and dry (not much wiggle room in tank chamber due to the metal air tube)
3) PITA to rebuild
4) Need to adjust number of "flavor wick" to prevent dry hit and flooding when vaping different PG/VG ratio eliquids
5) Airy draw, need to plug air holes to adjust tightness of draw (too tight will increase chance of flooding)
6) Can work with high VG% or PG% eliquids

I think Cedric's point as well as some others is nothing tastes better than a fresh anything (carto, atty, etc). At the price point for the heads it's inexpensive to replace them. I've always found that cleaning any delivery system never brings them back to that 100% new taste. Also to each their own some like to take the time to clean and or rebuild the heads.
