I am at work right now so I don't have any pictures to share. I have been building micro coil with a 1/16 bit with a cotton wick. SS Mesh feeding wicks. My juice right now is 80/20 vg/pg. After 10 or so hits, give or take, I'm starting to get burnt taste/dry hits. I'm getting frustrated at this point. Could the vg/pg mix be the issue? I have been careful not to use too much cotton, could it be I'm not using enough cotton in the coil? I'll post some pictures when I get home if I can figure that out.

Any help is greatly appreciated. When the GS is working its kick .... But I can only get it to work for under an hour and then it goes to hell. Thanks.

Here's some photos of the setup I'm using at the moment. Using this on my Origin mod at 1.2 ohm - 100%VG and no dry hits.

I've never tried SS mesh so I can't comment on that.

I use 1mm Ekowool in a inverted U wick for feeding the cotton.

Here is my micro coil. Make sure you have to cotton to the very top of the cap. I've have bad results with the cotton any lower lol.

Now, cut a piece of 1mm Ekowool to the length of 6cm(any shorter and its a PITA to fit through the wick holes). Torch it so it doesn't fray the edges.

Simply put the cap back on, making sure the Ekowool is touching the cotton.

Then trim to whatever size you want and enjoy one of the best vapes there is :) I use this more than my Kayfun :)

I know they're not the best photo's ever, but I'm sure you get the picture lol.

P.s. I tried this is 2mm Ekowool and had dry hits. I've not used silica(yet)but I'd imagine you would use 2mm instead.

Good luck :vapor:

I had all kinds of troubles with this RBA. To the point where I was going to just dump it. I happened to buy a cheap genesis rba from Fasttech and it had a couple of SS mesh wicks with it. Dumped the rba but kept the wicks. I had the GS coiled with 1/16" coil at 1.7ohm using cotton. I left that alone, cut the ss mech wick in two and pushed them into the feed holes. Transformed the GS. I feeds great. Never a dry hit. Couldn't be happier with the setup

This has been working much better. I wasn't using near enough cotton I don't think. Since I started this thread I haven't had to change the wick out. Granted only a few days but that is the longest a cotton wick has lasted for me. Thanks for all of the help.

Glad to hear you got it working :)

What problems have you had with it?

All. Dry hits. Soaked / zero vap production.

I've tried building a little nest, I've tried feeding the coils wick directly into the feed channels of the tank. It either leaks, or burns. I cannot get it right. I've tried the SS feeders. I've tried taking some steel out of the roll to make them flow more. Tried the short ones, the long ones. It also tastes like a weird subdued metal taste as well. I taste more metal than juice. (101 vapes clone) So far the only useful thing from my experience with it - is I like the drip tip. It looks cool. I use it on my Kayfun. Which is zero headaches compared to this atty.

I'll probably give it another go before it ends up in the scrap pile. But it has been my least productive bit of vaping equipment so far. Seriously Kanger T3's worked better for me.

I just got a Taifun GS clone (Hurricane S from Tobeco) and done my first build ever. I used the 2mm (I think) silika that was supplied, dumped the SS coiles that where installed and just have a 1.9 coil with 2 strands of wicks where one of the wicks go up through the wick holes into the tank. Astonishingly it works :p No leakage, good vape. It performs better than my first ever taifun build, but of course that's saying nothing, since it actually doesn't perform better than my Nautilus with standard coil. Tomorrow when I get my supplies I'll try more, I'd like to get a very simple pure 1.5mm ekowool wick going. Still not sure if all the hassle with rebuildables tanks is worth it.

Unfortunately I too get a metallic taste even though I soaked and cleaned and scrubbed it with dishwasher soap. It's not too bad but I'll have to give it another thorough cleaning. It's probably some tiny machine oil residue in the air hole :/ You can smell it very faint if you pull air without firing and exhale through the nose.
