I had good service with them too until about two years ago then it became a nightmare.
Perhaps this will be of some use to yaI am (was) having another occasional problem, I think I got all the bugs out now.
When unscrewing the "fill"cap sometimes it would unscrew the tank top with it resulting in juice every where if unnoticed.
What I did was to put a larger o-ring on the piece that seals against the top of the glass. It had a good feel to it when tightening. The one that I removed was a 16 x 1 mm and I put on a 17 x 1 mm.
The fill cap also has a 16 x 1 mm and if I had some 15 x 1 mm I would have changed that one too.
Below is a list of the o-ring sizes for an authentic TGT III, I will get a list for the clones in my blog soon I hope, I'm waiting on a couple more from different manufacturers.
The O-ring sizes used for the Authentic Taifun GT III.
5 x 1.5 mm (drip tip, upper part of chimney (2))
17 x 1 mm (AFC ring)
15 x 1 mm (top cap, winding deck)
20 x 1 mm (glass insert at the bottom)
19 x 1 mm (glass top cover)
EDIT:
With the exception of adding perhaps a slightly larger o-ring at the chimney's top (the lower one) these sizes also fit the clone that I have. I changed every one except the one under the AFC ring, pretty sure they put a 16 x 1 on there.
Thanks.Perhaps this will be of some use to ya
I try to keep the coil entirely in the air stream, short, contact and 2.7 - 3 mm id
I have also a GTIII clone which tasted like dogh****.
Cleaned it with soap and ammonia, but about the boiling do you guys do this with the rubber o-rings?
And if the tanks is pc or accrylic? also no problem with boiling?
OK, after much thought about whether to say something or not I decided to go ahead with this post. The first thing I did when I got mine was put the spare O rings from the authentic in my nano one. As you know the authentic uses two different size o rings at the top of the chimney, at least with those o rings, I have not had that problem, but I can say that if it's leaking when you open the juice control, that's probably not an o ring issue, it's probably a not enough cotton issue.

Here is a snip from the TGT III manual:
as you can see the orings for the chimney stem are shown as being the same size.![]()
Only on the clone from FT that came in the metal box was the groove for the lower o-ring cut not as deep. I assume that is how SmokerStore did theirs as well but I didn't buy an original of the TGT III.
