Alright, whats better, A Merlin or a Griffin? Those of you that have both please give me your opinion>

I have a Griffin, Griffin 25, Griffin 25+ Merlin, Merlin Mini. my preference in order, Single coil Merlin Mini, then a Merlin, Dual coil Griffin 25+ comes in slightly ahead of DC MM

Only issue with the Merlin Mini is capacity, otherwise its a fantastic little atty which does MTL reasonably well, comes with dual & single coil decks, airflow reducers, dual coil option not that far off from the Griffin. Merlin is quite nice as well, but the deck is a press fit, which has caused seeping issues for quite a few, otherwise another great atty.

I use my TGTIII atties about as much as the Merlins.

I've been searching lately for MTL tanks other than the Kayfuns and Squapes I like. It seems that most today are big drip tip models that are designed for DTL and by the way will kind of do MTL, but don't expect what you really expected or wanted in an MTL tank.

The vaping world has obviously gone to DTL with their heads in clouds.

I know this is a Taifun thread, but if you're looking for a good MTL tank try the SXK Doggy Style RTA. It has 1.6mm air hole, super easy to build and wick, doesn't leak. It doesn't have a lot of features due to its tiny size but it's worth it IMO to keep it small and decent juice capacity.

I've had the SJMY version of the Doggy for quite a while now, good little atomizer, about 3.5 ml capacity, as mentioned easy build no leaks, slightly more airy then the SXK restricted lung hits are doable (barely).

There has actually been a fair few MTL capable releases lately, EVL Reaper, Hussar single coil, SR4 from Shenray, Hurricane 2.0, Byka 6, to name a few. All high end MTL capable flavor tanks all available as clones.

Got my Taifun 3 in the little metal box. Scrubbed it, Soaked it overnight in denture cleaner, scrubbed it some more and then set that baby up. First try made a great coil on a 2.5 drill bit with 26 gauge came out to .6. Filled it with a great juice and I LOVE THIS THING! Nothing needed replaced so far :rickroll::banana::toast::vapor:

Got a different version today. Came in a black cloth zipper bag. I cleaned it with dish soap and a tooth brush. Let it dry and put it together. It vapes great no leaks no problems. I did have to reseat some of the o-rings but that is normal. I am very happy with it. I also changed the drip tip. Only used the metal tip to close and open the juice flow when I refill. Great rta very good quality metal work. Threads are also very smooth.

I have been trying to get the machine oil flavor out of my taifun gt3 mini clone with no luck. I have soaked it in hot water with dish soap multiple times and now even rubbing alcohol and I can still taste it. Which is a bummer because I got the MTL insert and I am really loving the way it vapes but that slight machine oil flavor is just killing it for me 8( any tips anyone
Hi, I do this: take all o ring on base and release all insulator (the part with 3 peek dot left it be and just wash it with warm water) then remove all o ring on juice control aka chamber, then boiled the base and chamber for 5 minutes, and boom all oiled smell are gone. :)

I would handle this differently, I would ask for a gift certificate for full value of the damaged one and apply that to this one:
$20.27 GT III Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 304 stainless steel + glass / 5ml at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
This is the better clone and comes in a metal box with a spare glass.

This is the one I got and it was perfect out the box. No smell, Clean and ready to go.

I did end up drilling it out before I could use it regularly.

Drilled all the air holes to 1/16 so far, dremled inside the base some. Drilled the air tube, or more so egged it out toward the posts a little, drilled the juice ports to 1/16 and sanded a bit so the chamber would turn. It's vaping pretty well to my liking now with 95%vg.

I've been running 3mm 26 or 24g and the lower the coil the better the flavor.

let me know how it is. I LOVE my other (the one in the tin you recommended)
I own that one although I bought it elsewhere so mine has the Taifun logo. Once I seated the o-rings properly and cleaned it I find it perfect. No problems at all and it looks great. Mine is the SS silver version. I paid $3 more perhaps added for the logo? I have done several rebuilds and many refills. No leaking no problems.

Ive been using CV Coppervapes Versions of the Taifun gtv3 and minis for quite a while 3 -4 months I have never had any problems with any of the SS versions from Gearbest only a couple quid more than the cheaper ones and better Reviews ,

but the black version is a bit mehh , cant see if jfc is open or not being all blk ,
I bought plenty of spare Orings and Glass tanks hsve 10 spares , since TDP regulations will kick in soon so stocked up. To last since i really enjoy this Version

I Love mine.
I have noticed though some have different posative posts on the Different versions from others though
Some have a screw , SXK, SMJY, Coppervapes , an such others have a solid post , ? All work the same only other difference is in the Branding or none at all (CV) or stiffer Orings used (SXK) but looks nicer [emoji3]

Im loving the Mini versions more dont know why but just seems a little better , they too have 2 types of 510 posts also ?
Never had the bad tastes oils an such from any of the ones I have received , Just a quick wash an such one did come with plastic tank but that got changed right away .
and all was good after swapping it out, I do hope they release other tank cages like they did GT v2 , Ive seen one for the mini v3 .
Here its diffrent ....
78f1b4fe72389ad27ac19417798b823f.jpg

Can buy a full Clone 5ml and mini for price of one tank cage

I Only Originally bought the Coppervapes version from gearbest not the cheaper one in a zip up bag So could only speak of that version which is a decent unbranded TF gt v3 ,
And Since then I've had the Mini Version from, efuntop TF GTv3 mini and its a Very very good version too quickly becoming my daily driver vape.
Then I decided to try The more expensive ones on fasttech well not really expensive but more than the others for sale there,
These came with solid 510 pins even the insulator where diffrent some seemed better quality than others slighty off white ,
On both the mini and the 5ml versions there is slight difference between them in materials used ,

Also I have built up a GT v2 from an engraved Separately purchased base an then bought 2 separate cage tank from fasttech one has the Gothic flower an the honey Combed version both look quite good , but the Flavours,

The Flavours phenomenal good from this one, As well as looks good too ,
fabbdb06f11842930428ebdac503cf36.jpg

My Tf GT v3 an minis run from either my VT 75 dna in TC smy 75v, balrog 75 or off my Ijust2 mods which fit them very well.
I use my other mods for my other RTA,s I'm liking single coil tanks Exo RTA , Merlin

TF GT v3 vWorks well not had any leaking from SS versions I own
just very nice vape from mine, + added a fodi drip tip on them all since can be cold on the lips when out on SS driptips colured to the Flavours I use [emoji3] only 67p a tip on Gearbest so why not this helps make the Original tip better , fitting a 510 tip inside it.

f20cf7ae8fd6fc0d5a4a5b654ff2aafa.jpg

The Blk one leaks thats the only one im not happy with. Its also hard to see JFC on it do will stick with the SS Versions.

I have 3 x coppervape 5ml Versions
2 x mini Coppervapes
2 x mini with Cloned writing from other sites SXK an such
2 x 5ml Cloned with Branding.

So thats 9 of them 8 are great [emoji3][emoji3]
and theres only the Blk version i dont like use daily .

Id would really now like to purchase now a Genuine Authentic version of the 5ml and mini . But they aint cheap and would cost me shy of 250£ for 3 RTA,s that wont be any different to my Clones other than costs , you can buy bases Orings drip tips tank cages and a deck plug reducers for Airflow for more restrictive MTL if they fit the Clones which i cant see why some wont if cloned right. [emoji106]

Since I do like the ones i have
I usually run 26g SS 316L in most of them
from 6-10 wraps depending on if its on a mod for TC or not or Spaced 6 wraps , wicks well vapes well lowering the build 2.5mm or 3mm id down onto Airflow can also help make it more restrictive or more open Draw

In one of my mini an 2 of 5ml SS Version ive have been running some basic Claptons all SS 316L builds
@ 26g core x 32g outer wrap 5-6 wraps , spaced SS 316L , for TC or Wattage can take these high up in wattage but no point in trying to burn the wick so usually have plain at 20w an others higher.
But can drink a lot more
With the Claptons an these have still run pretty well too.
They have gotta be thin enough to allow it to get a good grip under the post screws.

Not tried the cheaper under 10usd Versions of the Clones which these seem to be more hit an miss on quality tastes leaks smells ect
I had seen no point since
I'm happy paying an extra couple quid £ more on them knowing its going to run perfectly fine with no leaks no oils or smells an work as well as they do,

The Gearbest Coppervape versions have worked well for me only the Blk version i didnt like,

but I decided to go find some with branding more of Clone type 1.1 with Branding ,

Since I don't usually pick up clones until recentlynow im able to try RTA,s that are usually priced fairly highly without me being broke an dissatisfied if i dont like it or not
It seems I have had some good look with the Versions like Coppervapes Recently. As well as the,
Last few purchases which have been the SXK and SMJYor SJMY what ever it is called ?? which have also been pretty good for me ,

They have all been reliable dont leak even when left open jfc and Airflow in my pocket on the mods Flavours are decent , I got so many for comparison between my DIY juices Testings , same tanks same builds ect , gives a good comparison of juices ,

Will be next trying to pick up the Coppervapes hs 5.3ml (hussar ) single coil deck Clone next all others seem be be dual deck , so looks interesting but not seen much about it , im expecting it to be decent since other coppervapes builds seem to be that i purchased Recently.

,The CV Hurricane v2 is also a good one along with CV KFv5 an CV Kfv5 mini. All Un- -- branded Versions, I use quite a few CV rda,s, Atty O, haladay for the Cv bf squonker mod ,
Concidering i have always bought genuine Authentic version of all the RTA tanks I use in all sizes from 16mm to 30mm in sizes,

I have had good luck with the Cloned ones I purchased Recently. Wondered why i had not tried them sooner

The other versions like SXK an such do seem to have had slighty stiffer Airflow control an JFC,
Making it harder to adjust airflow .
Some times I have to take off mod to adjust occasionally.

Where as the cheaper CV seem to use thinner Orings on airflow allowing easier adjustable Airflow without unscrewing but they dont leak so do the job well .

But these do look more authentic due to the brandings logos on them which my CV lack Branding,
which is what a clone is about i suppose to look like an authentic , but id take functions over looks either way I waffled on long enough sorry for that ,

My Gt lll has renewed my LOVE for Taifun. Cannot believe I was considering anything else a few weeks ago. I do have some seepage out of the airflow control from time to time but I suspect it is my wicking. Hopefully someone will tell me otherwise if that is not the case.
