Taifun GT Discusion!

How do you build your cotton wicks ?
Right now I use a 1.8mm diameter 28awg coil 6 wraps (0,95 ohm in a mech) with a cotton wick wrapped in S style (for puffer) and sometimes it tastes a little burnt sometimes the airflow stops but if it was flooded it would leak from the airholes on the sides right ? What did I do wrong ?

I love my GT, ordered another one so that I can keep one attached to both of my mods. I run 75 vg /25 pg mix in mine, 28 gauge wrapped 12 times on 2mm to make a nice 1.8 ohm build, sorry haven't gone into sub-ohm so I can't speak to that. I tried silica and ekowool, I am heavy vaper, rapid puffs, they just didn't seem to keep up even with the short wicks. Cotton has kept up with me quite well. Much happier now that I have worked out that last detail. Hope this helps.

I don't know if this was covered before, and I don't want to re-read 120+ pages ;)

Is there anyway to twist the build deck so the word TAIFUN faces how you want without bending the wicks?

I usually put the collapse-able collar straight inline with the coil, and the way my base fits on my mod, the word Taifun faces left... If I rotate the collar, then the wicks wouldn't be straight anymore, they'd be kind of S shaped inside the collar/chimney/chamber, whatever you want to call it. That doesn't sound like a good idea.... I know its a minor vanity kind of thing, but I thought I'd ask :D

Not sure if this has been covered but how does the GT deal with 70vg/30pg juices?
Currently run 2 Rose atty's but interested in a genuine GT but worried about the thickness of my homebrew juices.
Any help appreciated folks

I've run 100% VG (Bobas bounty & havana gold both from ave) juice in my taifun gt with cotton wick, no problem. IF it does have any wicking issue, you can simply open it up and remove/add a tiny bit of cotton to the channels until you get that perfect wicking performance. :D
Thats just ONE of the great parts about using cotton.... its easy to work with, its super cheap so experimenting is simple and doesn't hit the wallet.... and the taste is better than anything I've personally tried ;) YMMV.

I read somewhere replacing the o ring with a 12x1 stops it from moving supposedly don't quote me on it though just what i read.

Is it okay if I have to unscrew the bottom post a little to make connection with my stingray mod ? Will that make it leak ?

Should be fine I had to adjust mine also for flat tops on my stingray and I have had no leaking issues.
as long as that o ring is seated just right you should be golden.

No worries, at least I know cotton will work.
Hopefully another member will let me know about silica builds

I've used 2mm filled ekowool and it worked good. You just have to kind of fluff the ends of it so it won't flood. I liked it because I didn't have to change it out, I could just dry burn it and refill and go. It seemed to have a little more muted flavor than the cotton yarn I normally use but I could live with the little loss of flavor. I am tempted to try 2.5mm to see how that works.

I have been required to replace the plastic tank on my FT TGT type b as well as a Taifun GS (FT) although ordered a week apart. This was due to tank cracking ripe banana juice.
The Hcigar brand replacements can both be found here: HCigar Taifun GT Replacement Tank - EVcigarettes.com
They are pretty easy to change on the GT, just boil the two parts and when they cool the plastic shrinks enough to separate them.
Then drive the ss piece onto the new tank.

I feel like a shill, but anyone interested in a Taifun clone might want to consider angelcigs.com. They ship many of their items from the US, shipping is free, and it costs maybe $2 more than FT. They don't have nearly the selection of FT, but hey, 3 days vs a month.....

I've got two from there and both are just as good as the ones I got from FT a while back.

Just sayin'.
