Recently the GT II positive screw has been getting backed out when unscrewing it from the SX Mini mod. This is likely due to the spring loaded 510 connection on the SX Mini. It may be that I am over-tightening, or maybe my 510 on the GT II was on the loose side. Either way I figured I would mention it in case others run into this. Tightening up the positive screw and not tightening down the mod too much seems to prevent it.

re wicked my Taifun that was leaking everywhere with extra KGD laid over the wick. Rolled with it all day like this and not a leak yet.
Guess it was all in the wicking.

If the O-rings are new, it usually is the pressure seal at the slot with the wicking. That has been my experience. Since switching to KGD, I have not had a leak. That's been a while now. It compresses so well, that it fully seals the slot, yet allows great wicking. I recommend it. Good luck! :toast:

Bill I have been using it for almost a year now but was still getting leaks. I think my wicks were just to skinny

There seems to be a problem with Facebook, that's where I put my pic and then link to them.
Here is the one that I'm trying to post, just a little experiment, wicked with rayon, working well.

I'm removing these "30 watt" guys and going off in another direction

So what I did different was 1st use micro and rayon, I normally use silica and hand wrapped.
And usually I have the coils legs rolling off the bottom of the coil but this time they roll off the top. I did have to pull it up some as it was too close to the air outlet.
Closer to the air outlet was the idea though with having the legs roll off the top.
It's early yet but this may just be my best build on a Taifun GT to date. Oh this is a single 2 mm id micro with rayon, 1.1Ω @ 20 watts

I know how you guys feel about clones.

But Taifun GT II clone is finally available for $29.95

Ships in 10 - 20 days.

The pictures from the seller's website look fine to me. But, then again. who's stopping him from publishing the real pictures of the authentic German Taifun GT II? The seller is in China, I bought from him before. He has relationship with Yiloong, and it is very possible that this was cloned by Yiloong. I'll ask him.

I see... I went ahead and ordered one of this. Will see how it is when it gets here.

If I didn't have one already (original) I probably would order one from them also. Such a good job was done on most of the TGT clones that I see little to no difference between the clones and the originals. I'm really curious to see how the K4 clones turn out, I would say they are a bit more of a challenge to copy.

This one doesn't say the tank is glass, though. It says Clear tank PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate)
I see from looking it up that is a kind of plastic...
Wikipedia says: Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) is a transparent thermoplastic often used as a lightweight or shatter-resistant alternative to glass.
Although it is not technically a type of glass, the substance has sometimes historically been called acrylic glass. Chemically, it is the synthetic polymer of methyl methacrylate.

Soooo, my question is... what about tank-cracking liquids? Frankly, the glass tank was my main reason for hurrying up on the GT II.
What do you guys think?

PMMA is the least resistant to tank cracking juices of the various plastics used for tanks.

Are you saying that plastic will "melt" with tank cracking juices, i.e., least resistant means most affected by those juices? Meaning NOT GOOD for reactive juices, right?

The above links provide a little more insight than I have on the subject but I did crack three TGT tanks in a short period of time by using TPA Ripe Banana flavoring for my DIY juice.
It also swell the silicone feed tube on my Reo Grand. I have a big bottle of that flavor just sitting there, Hey a guy like me has to be extra careful, I have dentures....LOL

BTW that ripe banana is tasty

So I've been having this little problem for a few days now and didn't want to speak of it till now.
I received my new Kayfun 4 a few days back and it was out performing my TGT II.They had basically the same air draw (close) same juice, same wick and coil (different tails) and running at the same power. Hey the TGT's were doing great but the K4 was doing better. All this changed when I brought the coil much closer to the air outlet tube but there were other changes made as well, like micro and rayon vs hand wrap on silica. Anyway the TGT II kicks tail now. Next is to put micro and rayon in the K4 and compare again.
Post #2245 of this thread explain the build I did somewhat

I thank God (and you) for all the research you do and save the rest of us from it

So to keep my comparison on level ground I decided it was much easier to rebuild my TGT II with silica rather than rebuild the K4 with rayon.
Put a hand wrapped 28 gauge Ni-chrome coil around some 3 mm silica and installed with the coil legs rolling off the top. had to pull it up as it was sitting on the air tube, another successful endeavor. I think the K4 still has slightly better flavor but vapor production is extremely good and flavor is good on the TGT.
