Well I'm assuming that everyone that bought their TGT II from SmokerStore got a small sample of this.
Am I the only one that tried it? (just now)
It appears to be like the Japanese pads only cellulose (rayon). Anyway it seems to work just fine (so does rayon)
I've actually been very impressed with it and have found it to out perform Sallys. Easier to work with and stays cleaner longer. Wicks excellently. I didn't want to like it, but I really do.

I've been having trouble with Koh Gen Do lately. The very first build I did was Koh gen do, which worked fantastic, but once it was time to rewick, it worked terribly. Haven't landed a good KGD wick since. I tried my Rayon tonight and it works way better. More consistent and just about over nic'd myself lol. I like the flavor better on KGD than rayon, but the rayon is wicking better (more bubbles) so I'll stick with that for now

Are you screwing your chamber cap all the way down, I'm thinking that you have maybe too much wick in the slots. Try your cap not screwed down as far if that is the case.
Mine currently has a 2 mm id coil with a (about) 4 mm sliver of Fiber Freaks and the cap is halfway. not really much wick there either

The cap is so backed out it occasionally sticks to the chimney inside the tank when I remove the base, which always ticks me off. I Shoulda gotten the wider slot base

Let me guess, VG and lung hits right?
Not to say there's anything wrong with using hi VG just it creates some challenges in the wicking dept.

Are you saying it is alright to leave the chamber cap loose?

This is with the TGT II as it is made to be adjustable, they added a longer sealing surface for the o-ring to seal against.
But in the case of TGT I another 10 x 1 mm o-ring can be added to "make" the slots taller and still have the cap sort of tight.

Please explain this better "legs rolling off the bottom?"

Take a look a Kiwi's build in post 2270, the legs are rolling off the bottom of the coil.
Imagine if you removed it and re-installed it upside down, then the legs would be rolling off the top and the coil would tend to sit lower towards the air tube.

I was pretty happy yesterday that I was not leaking. First time in many days. I did go a little heavier on the wicking material (KGD) this morning I am getting dry hits again. Oy Vey!

Goldilocks zone on wicking size. Once you find it, you've got it made. Takes a wee bit of time to do that. I think roughly twice my coil diameter is about right (1/16" TMC). Works like a charm. :toast:

Here's Kiwi's photo that I was referring to,

Nice

Fyi that was with rayon :) wicking with rayon requires much higher wick density in the coil, so you'll end up with wick tails which will be way too much for the channels, although I do the same trimming for KGD too. Nods. Only difference is for KGD the trimming is less. Erm. Intense.

I find that with cotton, if you're using a 2mm mandrel, the amount of trimming is very minimal. It was my go to build.

Now I've been using primarily 3/32, so I do needa trim quite a bit more, but it allows me to Vape at higher wattages (approx 23 to 25 watts).

ETA: I've tried trimming fat wicks such that it just presses against the wick hole, but doesn't actually go through it. It does work well, but I've found that it's not consistent in the sense that if you're like me and bring multiple ATTIES along and kinda just dump them in a bag, random jolts and bumps can accidentally knock the wick outta position, and it'll end up leaking. That's been my experience so far
