A little something about the design of the GS2 I noticed and don't particularly like is the o-ring that seals the bottom of the tank seems to be doing double duty. It keeps the upper AC ring firm as well as seals the tanks bottom end, it really should have two o-rings in that area (IMO). I have only clones so I can't compare to the original but figure it's the same. On my 19 mm Hotcig GS2 the bottom of the tank never even touched the o-ring. I fixed that though. Also I'm not to sure how much it matters as there are plenty of fine threads that probably make the seal well enough.

Roxy, six inches per straw? That seems way too long. Did you mean six centimeters?

No, 6 inches each! Those holes are gigantic.

My first time I used about 3" each of 110, but it started slowly leaking. Then this afternoon it really started leaking. So I went to the 400, and yep, 6" each is what it took

Those were both with 1mm holes.

Is it possible to share a photo? I gotta see that :)

The holes in the 22mm GS2 must be bigger than the 19mm GS2, I guess. I'm trying to get an idea of how to make the mesh straws. My GS2 is still in transit from GB. Shipped from Holland (?). Hope it comes in one of those bamboo boxes with lazer cut slits.

Hi Pete,
Hopefully you get that sweet box!

I just use 10mmx50mm 200g straws. There is a 30g build in it now which will probably be replaced with a 28g.

Any ideas as to the reasoning behind the bottom AFC ring, it has a wider slot on one side than the other?

Has anyone tried a cotton pad under the feeder wick ring instead of straws like in the original video? I don't like the fact you have to retract the straws to work on the deck. I am just too spoiled by the ease of the FeV.

I didn't pay much attention to it as yet but maybe so you can have just 1 or 3 holes open instead of 2, 4, ect

Yes, the feed holes are much larger on the 22mm Shenray than on the 19mm. And much larger than the FeVs. I'll try to get a decent pic for you. I have them flush to to the top of that cap so they stick down into the chamber to the wick (opposite of TrollDragon).

I only had 3" squares of 400 mesh so yes, used 2 3" strips per straw. After rolling my first 3" strip I was in despair because I wasn't even close to the right size. So I grabbed my second piece and kept rolling, and used all of that, too. Then cut 2 more and did the second straw.

This is with 70vg juice.

I've also wondered why the afc slots were different on both sides.

That 22mm one does have massive airflow. It might like a Clapton :)

Nice job on the mesh straws, TD! I like the way you folded the edges to get a smooth rim.
About the posts, if they are similar to the GT2-S Hotcig clone, you can unscrew both posts and then the 510 screw like this guy does:
