Is there a good small dna200 mod yet? Did they release the half power ones with smaller battery requirements? I have an opus 200 that has to be returned. I can't see replacing it with anything that isn't smaller
Price only good for today: http://www.gearbest.com/temperature-control-mods/pp_235371.htm

Yah I think that's what I have. Any idea the differences to the hotcig. I specifically avoided the hotcig after the gt2 disasters.

I'm really considering the authentic what a boils down to the heat produced if it also has a problem of just getting super hot I probably won't
Sorry I don't have the Hotcig version, the one I got was recommended as the one to get so I picked it instead.

Here's a big thing to be looking for on these clones. Note how the sleeve's ID is much larger than the screws OD. Note the shape of the underside of the screws head. This area is prone to develop high resistance. This is just one of many small differences between the originals and quality clones.

I couldn't find a good picture of an original so here it one of my Hotcig GT2-S'

Since getting my GS2's my GT2's have been retired, really should clean them up a bit better.

That's an awful copy in the fast tech photo. Mine doesn't look anything like that. The foggy version. It looks much tighter

The hotcig clones I had of the gt2 were very poor like the photo you provided. I gave up and went authentic. The gs2 - I'm not so sure authentic is worth it. The differences don't seem so big. Plus I just bought a mark bugs gem so my wallet can use a break.

Dwcraig1 I sent you a pm about the dna stuff so as not to derail this thread.

Not sure Al foil is a good idea. Al is not good with acids and some juices, particularly the fruity ones are probably going to dissolve that over time...just saying!!
I was kinda thinking the same, I saw someone use pads of KGD/ rayon/cotton etc to lift the shoulders. I just use longer tails and roll them under to keep the shoulders up and snug on the mesh tubes.

I don't think the juice will dissolve the heavy-duty foil. The purpose of the foil is to fill the deep juice wells and provide support for the wick, which must remain in constant contact with the ptfe tubes or mesh straws. You can push the wick up from below with a big wad of rayon but eventually the wad will shift or drop lower.
Like the screws in the FEV, the foil traps the wick and holds it in place.

Gear beast has the hotcig Dan 200 box for $127 with 4-7 day shipping and insurance. Use code DNABOX200W at checkout. I figured I'd add that here as it was brought up and others may want a cheaper solution to a DNA 200 box

Opus is smaller by a fraction, I had a lot of issues with mine which resulted I sending it in, not having it fixed, and getting refunded by opus. Ultimately they handled it well but there's a lot more to that story. I'd suggest buying a cheaper mod or mod from another manufacturer. And for $130 I'm not sure you're going to find a dna200 mod shipped in reasonable time for less than that.

I've never used gearbeast before. Heard horror stories which is why I paid $13 for insurance and shipping.

Guess I will see what's what with them. I'm a big fan of stainless steel for wicks all of a sudden after not caring much for it initially. Dna 200 is the only temp mod I know of which can support it. And I just bought a pound of stainless wire.

Looks like it lairs well with various taifun atomizers. I wish taifun would maybe use a more, traditional finish tbh

I just built this the recommended way with offset straws and I have to say it's spot on. Really intelligent way to wick this. I also built it with a .6 coil on the ego one battery I'll keep an eye on how much juice I can get through before it needs a charge. I'm a big fan of small mods when leaving the house. At home I'm all for computers regulating temps through generators and jumper cables.

thanks for this info. I have one that has high resistance no matter the oring I put on and I am beyond frustrated with it and this must be why.

Here is a picture of TGT1 service set, note the longest and next to longest screws, those are the positive and negative post screws along with their sleeves. These also fit TGT2 and 1 &2 clones, at least they fit my friends like the one pictured in the FT photo a few posts back. The one with the goofy screws. The super cheap clones used tubes that are really thin walled where as the better ones have a thicker wall.

Your mention of o-ring selection has me a bit baffled...LOL
hahaha I realize why. Dimwitted me thought you meant that the size of the screw interferes with the chamber sliding on and off and I have one that no matter what size oring I put on it is either too loose or too tight.hahaha

I'll have to double check on my gt2 but I could have sworn clone screws were longer to account for the split base.

I noticed on the gs2 one thing in tank mode. It has great flavor but the design definitely increases throat hit substantially. I'm vaping 0,3, and 6 mg juice, all high vg, and throat hit is night and day in the gs2. For me this is a good I guess for the 0 and 3 mg juices. Not so great for the 6. This comparison is made based on similar vapor production as in assuming the overall vape is similar outside of that. I wonder what it is about the design that leads to that? I noticed it right away anecdotally but I'm currently doing a shootout between a. Few tanks I have to choose the winning three or four and its quit evident.

Just an observation.

I wasn't even thinking about the screws for the Hotcig TGT-S, but both positive and negative screws are slightly shorter than the 1:1's. I didn't compare the sleeves.

Gonna ask my fellow Taifun-nuts for a little advise...

I have been trying for a long time to get the GT ss and poly tank parts to use on my GT2, Im wierd, but I like the look of the GT so much better. I was able to get a dirt cheap GT used, kept the tank parts and sold the base with the GT 2 tank etc.

I really want to get my other GT 2 the ss and poly tank/ combi tank parts but cant find them anywhere. I checked FasTech and Gearbest , they have all sorts of replacement parts but not the ss section.

Im thinking I might as well by a "whole clone" but I want to make sure the finish matches the genuine the best. Can anyone suggest a good GT clone that looks closest to the genuine or a place that sells just the sections for the GT1 clone?

Are you installing your wick through channels and leaving little tails?

If so, try this method, It solved all my same problems. Leave the wick longer and roll and tuck under with a pair of tweezers. Its perfect everytime and somehow I can still vape till its almost completely empty, even with 95% VG.

Its in German but easy to get the idea... I had similar problems when I first started using it, was getting irked, but found this video.

I rewicked according to your advice. No leaking at all for 3 days. Thanks a lot!

Interesting: for the first time in my vaping carrier I tasted cotton (KGD), I think because I used at least 5 times as much cotton as usual. It was awful for an hour or two. Then it was gone.
