Wick for "couple weeks"?
The coil for 3 months I can more understand if kanthal.

Dude I rewick and coil every 3 to 6 tank FULLS! otherwise the coil gets gunked up and you can taste char burning. I doubt any wick has last me more than a week...ever.

My wick is an "S" shape, goes down on one side of the well and lays across the bottom of the entire well. The mesh tube sits on/in the tail

My tubes would be at about 12 and 6 o'clock in the first picture going the whole way down to the wicks tail at the bottom of the well. If it doesn't sit in the tail I can expect leakage.
Ok, we are doing things differently. I'll have to take some photos later today when I rebuild. I'm using more wick (I think), the mesh tubes are nowhere near that long... The mesh tubes are touching the tops of the shoulders on the wicks. And I'm putting way more cotton inside those juice wells.

I am usually running 2-3 tanks at a time with ko gen do,and yes, I still use kanthal. When I replace wick I break the tank down and give an ultrasonic bath after dry burning coil and checking integrity of coil. After ultrasonic cleaning for 15-20 minutes I blow with air compressor and coil is like new and shiny.Rewick and ready to go, I also DIY my liquid. Amazing how much less gunked up my coils are versus when I used to buy premade juice. Back then I was cleaning and rewickicking every few days, maybe a week if I pushed it.

You know now that I think about it I rewick after about 6 tankfulls, I just fill the tank less often than you because I am runing 2-3 tanks all day. I only vape about 4 ml a day roughly.

So I says to my self "Phone Guy must be vaping hi VG in his TGT2's" . So I bring out my TGT-S which has really big wick slots ( I did it) and set it up and used 95%+ VG juice with it wicked "the new way", worked good @ 20 watts.
Edit: 96.3% VG
The flavor is TPA Elderberry, it is so strong that 0.3 ml will flavor a 30 ml bottle. Also 1 ml Sweet Flavor added.

I clean my tanks regularly too. And tho I have many tanks, I usually favor 1 or 2 at a time. I haven't touched my k4, SqR, erlkonigin, etc in months and months. Right now in bouncing between my GSL and aromamizer mainly with the gt2 once in a while. (and I really want to love the gem, but I just don't)

most of the juice I use is DIY, I go between KGD, muji/puff, and rayon. 99.9% of my build are TC, either ni200 or Ti grade 1. And after 3+ tanks I can usually taste the coil gunking up. But TC Coils can't be dry burned, so instead of trying to clean like some do, I just rewrapped a new coil and rewick. Just me... Ymmv

Most of my DIY is 70vg 30pg (approximately) so yeah I'm in the 70 to 80 VG range.

Your wicking 95% VG? impressive. I cut slots in my gt1 sleeve on a gt2 base to 3.5mm and the base is slotted afc. That one is my favorite gt2 setup.

I fixed up one of my Tobeco TGT2's and give it to my friend that bought the last three. Worked well just as expected , that's with the wick tails inside the chamber. I will be doing them all that way from now on, mainly because I'm lazy but it works just as well or better than the old way.
yeah I was pretty happy with the way it worked out too. No messy wicks pieces hanging out the side when you refill

When you have a coil that has the legs pointing in opposite directions one leg is going to roll off the top side of the coil and the other off the bottom. Depending on which direction that it's wound will determine which end of the coil has the one rolling off the top (or bottom). In this case it would be desirable to have the leg rolling off the top to be the negative and the one rolling off the bottom to be the positive lead, the coil would mount level this way. Compare it to a 2 post with holes in their sides that are offset in height.
Edit: Well when I built mine I wrapped it the "wrong" way, no problem as it still could be adjusted.
