Taifun GT / ohms questions

Hey, so I'm still fairly new so cut me slack.

"I'm at 3.7 V and 5.87 resistance Making my ohms around 2.4"

Now I'm asking for my friend here. I'm still new to the ohms law and all that. But I know how to build but just don't know what is good for vv/vw/ohms/resist/etc.

I built my friend a 8 wrap 28g nano coil. I was wondering is that any good? He was wondering if he brought it down by 1.2 ohms would it be better? Also how do you bring down the ohms?

Ok....the first sentence makes no sense...strike that.
The second part makes more sense, however a nano coil is more effective in a dripper than it is in a tank system.
On a taifun, a micro coil is perfect. Wrap your coil around a 3/32 or 5/64" drill bit. 8 wraps of .28 ga kanthal should be around 1.2 ohms. Adding more wraps will increase the resistance....10 wraps will be around 1.5-1.6 ohms. Less wraps will lower resistance. 1.2-1.5 is perfect for a Taifun GT.

I'm confused by the first comment, as well.

Ryuoska, asking questions is great. That's what we are here for. I might suggest that you do a lot more reading on coil building, have a better understanding of Ohm's Law . . . And especially, proper battery maintenance and requirements.

What information you may receive here will still leave you with many gaps for a safe vaping venture. Do you have the proper tools to check the resistance of your coils and the current state of your batteries?

Coil diameter affects the total resistance, as does wire gauge and the number of turns.

Here's a good calculator for winding coils. Make sure you understand all the input fields. Leg length figures into the total. It's the length of the coil leg from where it leaves the coil until it touches the screw, not what's wrapped under the screw. That's not a critical number unless it's much longer than 2mm.

Ok yea. I thought it wouldn't make sense... that's what my friend told me. That's why it was in quotes.

Yes I have the coil checker. The batteries... he bought them from a supplier in Hong Kong. He does business with the guy. The company. The guy says they are safe. They work fine. But I told my friend I'm not making any sub ohm builds unless I know the battery is safe... Which I don't know lol.

Sorry sonicdsl

Wait I think it was a micro coil then... Idk the size. But it's the SMALL screwdrivers you get with certain fasttech attys

I believe those are 1.3-1.5mm, which is a micro coil. You should use the steam engine link posted above to plan out how many wraps.

Also, tell your friend your ohms do not change like that. You need to put your atomizer on your ohm reader, find the correct ohms value, and use that to make your calculations. Again, your ohms won't change - your voltage/amps/watts will.

If you're using a mech mod and your battery is fully charged you'll be running at 4.1 amps (allowing for voltage drop of what I'm assuming is a clone). 1.4 ohms at 4.1 amps will result with 5.88 volts and 24.7 watts. If you're on a variable voltage or variable wattage device then i recommend changing those values instead of amps in the steam engine ohm's law calculator.

So a higher rating coil will produce more smoke ? will this burn my eliquid faster ?

I don't think you'll see too much of a difference in liquid if you have the same wraps and just a larger diameter coil. It's when you get to lower gauge wire with more wraps that you'll see a difference.

My Mutation X in dual coil 26gauge blows through liquid with a micro coil, while my macro coil Omega with less wraps used much less.
