Taifun GT: Real vs Clone

I saw on FT that it's now shipping with the SS base. I'm tempted to get one to play with. I had a Fogger v2 and didn't care too much for it..even for it's cheap price. I'm not a fan of the design, I didn't get too much flavor out of it. I'd like to get the real one but if it's the same, I'm not crazy about paying $100+ more for it, plus it's always out of stock.

I'm leary of mystery metals.. I don't chrome plated anything.. if this thing is full SS I might try one.

I'd suggest taking a look at the full kayfun clone from FT. It's a little bigger because of the juice well, but the unit itself gets good reviews. FT had supply problems for a while but I think they have that solved now, plus they have a drip tip adapter and spare tank available now as well. Just hit the little drop down to take a look.

Or, wait for the rose clone. Have you seen Todds review of the rose yet?

interesting, looking at this site it seems these are actually different versions of the same attys FT sells. looking at the kraken I see subtle differences and they seem to have the better one then FT. being a PP friendly site I may give them a shot for some clones and see whats up.

I did some searching and they seem like a decent site, no one had anything bad to say that I read. if you do order from them i'd be interested in your experience. hopefully the turn around isn't too long.

So i ordered one on Nov 18th from FT.. it still isnt here yet, so i think that it was on backorder or something, does anyone know if that means i'll be getting the SS base? or how would i go about getting them to send it to me if i got the brass one? And maybe it's just me, but that pic of the listing for the SS base doesnt look like real SS.
Anyone compared one of these to a fogger or kayfun yet? i imagine its light-years past the fogger, and im also considering selling my kayfun in favor of buying like 4 of these..

After all the KF hype it's interesting you say you will sell your KF I have been trying to get a KFL clone for 2 months hope it's not an anti climax

The FT GT clone is nice I was surprised by the build quality for the price, but unvapeable until the steel comes in the dragon vapemail.

No emails from FC are sent only PayPal payment confirmation. You need to login to the site to check order processing and your tracking reference(s), they seem to be fast at dispatch and used Swiss post for me.

The usual few days before it has any tracking no idea about Swiss post time frame using Track 17 stats there pretty slow not as slow as Swedish post but there maybe a backlog with Xmas mail volumes? It took 2 weeks from arriving in Sweden to get to the UK global mail logistics are insane, having sent hundreds of items globally using a signed for service which is not cheap £10 / $US16 for upto 150-200g stuff rarely took longer than 2 weeks to anywhere in the world the slowest delivery was to the USA by USPS on occasions with infrequent tracking this year at times (no updates for point to point) for upto 7 days.

The good news is the vendor FC has stated the TF GT they sell is a SS deck. It was hard to tell from there pics but my hunch was it wasn't made by the same manufacturer. We shall see!

The knurling on the top cap of the real taifun vs fasttech taifun is different. That and the copyrighting and minor logo details? It's pretty 1:1 and the deck is SS.

So far seems to be a great vape, straight out of the box (well, after washing and setting it up).

Just one minor issue, and I'm not sure if the real thing has the same problem. The post screws are round. Very round. As in, when you catch a coil under them, they seem to push it out when you tighten them. I had to wrap my resistance wire all the way around them, which can be pretty tricky to do with 28 gauge wire and a mesh wick in the way.

Next time I'll have to try to set it up with a VCore Can't bring myself to tear it down in the meanwhile.

Also: I know it was in the specs, but good god! This thing is huge, heavy, and wide!

I just got mine from FastTech as well. I noticed the same thing about the screws. It was a pain, but probably a bit easier since I wicked it with ekowool.

And yeah, the size and weight of this thing...my god. I first built it and put it on my provari. Talk about a billy club. I blew through a whole tank in about a day. I then tore it down and rebuilt it with a lower resistance coil and threw it on a chi you clone. It's not a bad little (huge and heavy) atty. A bit of a learning curve at first, but once built correctly, the flavor is amazing. I've been pretty exclusive to the kayfun for the past 6 months, but this thing gives it a run. I think the kayfuns are a lot easier to build. If you don't build the taifun just right, it will leak all over the place.

Got one from FT. I love being able to fiddle with the wick without emptying the tank! It is not the greatest clone, one of the deck screws is really hard to turn. I think this is the one where the screws are also not flat on the underside so they don't hold on the wire well.

Ordered the metal tank from FT this week. I haven't seen a replacement clear tank yet? I break everything.
