Maybe order from FT? they are SS now from what I am lead to believe and no quality issues apart from the deck but maybe I got a good one, I was hoping the one from focal was the same quality but all SS I guess I will put it up on eBay.

Did you get replacement draw pipes?, what else comes with the focal one? I won't know until Friday when I get back to the city.

Anyone tried the focal deck on the FT clone does it fit?

That is the same experience that I've had except one of my wire hold down screws has really tight threads. I tightened something down and now the deck usually stays with the bottom cap when I screw it apart. The threads are too fine and seem like a cross thread waiting to happen. It is a really nice vapor machine though. I ordered another. I think comparable to a kayfun except less parts to drop in the garbage disposal right when I should be sleeping.

I might be some freak of nature, but I hate the vapor from my KFL, and love how easy it is to setup/refill. It's the opposite of my taifun, which vapes like a champ, but is a bear to setup/refill.
I think I'll try Fogger next. Should be best of both worlds.

mmm, it comes down to the build quality of the clone VS the real one, i have a few clones and a couple real ones, the top cap tube on the real one is a single milled tube and cap, not press fit, whats happening is the clone tube is offset and grabs the coil chamber at an angle so when you try to remove the cap it also turns the coil on you (one of my clones did this as well).

if you really do like the vape It really is worth it to get the real one instead. you will see most of the issues your having simply do not exists with the real deal. as it is I bought the clones out of curiosity but the real one stays in use.
this pressfit topcap tube so far is the only real issue i have seen in the overall quality of the clone, once I straightened the tube it works like it is supposed to but i am now paranoid it will fall out on me lol (and magically as if on cue while trying the real topcap on the clone it did.)

I would suggest staying away from the fogger....just my opinion but I hated the fogger for several reasons.

Please explain further why the TGT is hard to setup and fill. It should be much easier that a kayfun.

Are there several clone producers? If so which one should I look into? I try to avoid fasttech/china, if possible.

well so far, the different clones I have are all different quality but they all carry the same pressfit chimney tube, But as noted in the other GT thread the clone with the (R) on the box seems to be overall better quality. and the one I just received from focalecig is one of the better ones I have seen yet. with parts being a 1:1 match to the real one. even the real topcap tube fits on this clone. whereas the fasttech version wont accept the authentic topcap.

even basic things like the luster of the metal and the polished surface is cleaner and has a brighter shine/tone to it, it actually came with spare orings and airtubes as well. in the end I think i will order the real topcap for the FC clone and it will make a very nice copy.

in general it seems as soon as something is cloned there are several companies dumping out their version. and fasttech seems to grab the cheapest ones in many cases, I wont say everything they sell is the worst of the cheap as I have several items that kick A** from them. but more often then not lately i get two clones/copies of something and usually the one from fasttech is the lower quality or lacking in some way.

well, I recieved my clone from focal ecig, or should I use the word replica! this thing is damn hard to tell from the real thing. even the knurling matchs 99%. theres even a registered trade mark on the box (sad) I have no problem with copies but, when they're this close a lot of people are going to be taken. if you really don't know what to look for this thing could pass as authentic no problem!

if china wants to copy devices fine, I just wish they would leave names, trademarks and serial numbers off them!!!!

I actually dont do micros. too much TH for me.

one is set up with mesh and some silica "hats" on the ends to block juice flow

and the other is simply 3 strands of the 2mm that came with my real one. both running the 1.5 airtubes.

the FC one is a dead on match part for part. and i am waiting for the real topcaps to come back in stock and will replace the pressfit ones.

The mesh is awesome for my tobacco juices... :) I use some 500, rolled as dense and tight as I can to snugly fit the slots.

So, you're saying the decent quality clone you received (Not FT) is damn near as good as our genuine articles??

yea its pretty darn close, so far the only real difference i see is the wick slots seem to be cut just a hair bigger and i mean i had to stare at them. and the tank threading onto the base is slightly different, but that could easily be mine alone.

Check this out, and this is odd. build quality aside (it is nicely done)

the threading on the clone is slightly different but it is loose enough for a few things to happen:
FC version-
I can get the real top cap on the clone tank
I can get the real tank on the clone body

i cannot get the clone top on the real tank
every part inside is a 1:1 match so i will get a new topcap for it.

FT version.
I can get all parts to interchange with no issues BUT the real chimney tube is too big to fit into the top of the chimney cover to put a real topcap on the FT version i would also need to order the real chimney cover or bore it out a little bit.

i notice a bit of play in some of the orings on the FC version but nothing major I think with a real cap and maybe better orings it would be every bit as good as the original.

at this point i havent had time to set it up and see if the looser o rings leak yet, but I have plenty of spares so thats a non issue to me.

so my findings all lead up to one conclusion - I have way too much free time lol

I had a FT taifun givin to me because the tube on the top cap comes apart. any suggestions to attach the air tube to the top cap permanently? thought about crazy glue but, not really liking the idea of that stuff being near my juice ;)

if I can't find a solution i'll order a shorty tank. I assume they are all one piece like the real taifun gt top cap...

Some of the adhesive that's used in aquarium systems might be ok to use. Also, would a little of the white plummers tape make it snug enough to hold together? Probably wouldn't be trustworthy I'm guessing.
