I'm in the US, if there's more specifics for the UK hopefully some of the locals will chime in. It might be helpful to know where you're going as well (assuming you want to bring it back!)

You can pack pretty much any amount of e-liquid in checked baggage.

The airlines request that any batteries be in carry-on baggage. In the US, your carry-on liquids also need to go in the 1-quart baggie. But apart from that, you can carry any vaping gear in your carry-on.

Vaping in-flight is prohibited by all US airlines AFAIK. I either vape in the bathroom, or sometimes just put a drop of e-liquid on my wrist or even under my tongue. (Kind of like a patch/gum substitute). Be careful with the under-the tongue thing, it can taste pretty harsh!!!
