How about some little teapots for today? They're made using burnt out light bulbs as the form. I think the first two are rather Dr. Suess'ish.
They're lovely and whimsical! Love them.
But my mind, working as it does, latched onto the 'burnt out light bulbs as the form' statement and immediately formed an image of a hobbit-like character tending a still, the coils of which were modeled on a compact florescent.
Thanks Dale! I have a bunch of light bulbs sitting here in a box on my work table. Waiting. At this point I'm thinking it's merely a case of hoarders mentality and I'll never actually make another.

This is me admiring something else I made. One of my finest pieces of work... my son. This was his sixth birthday (a pirate party - best party EVER.) He's celebrating his 7th anniversary today.

A friend of mine played the part of Smee and did face painting for the kids - 22 first graders.Beautiful Kayte, and that chin hair looks so real!
I thought he looked pretty good with a beard... like his daddy. 
Looking at all these very beautiful talents I am in Awe and somewhat hesitant to post in here because of all of the amazing works I have seen lol. Wow I bow before your greatness....all of you!

Does anybody here remember the movie "Beloved"? A bit of idle trivia.....long before Fredericks of Hollywood....women wore split-crotch bloomers....how else to attend to body functions when laced up in a corset? So of course this one is appropriately attired

Yiddle, that's gorgeous work ... but the last photo made me awfully sad But, then again, I suppose that was the whole point.

It was a sad story and if you saw the movie, you remember that Sethe called the scars on her back a "tree". This piece resides with a collector in Chicago.......As the dealer who purchased it had a certain celebrity as a regular customer....I can only hope she's the one who has it.
A friend wanted to see the worktable I'm building, so I made a video. Thought I might as well also post it here to get this thread off of Page 2.
I need to rebuild the base because it started out as a stationary table, and the casters I added aren't right now because it's a lot heavier than I ever expected, but everything else is finished except for a few touch-ups and alignments . . .

The top is a lot smaller than I'd like, but the material is from old school desks, and after trimming off the edges damaged by water and kids carving their name, this was what I was left with. The legs are of the same material. The rest is plain lumber from Lowe's.
It's not fancy, and it's nowhere near furniture-grade, but it turned out a bit better looking than I expected.
