Cutting a notch with a dremel (I used a triangle diamond file) doesn't help much. As soon as you seat the tank over it, it just seals it back up. If you flip the tank over to use the non-countersunk cap, it doesn't seal up but leaves an unsightly gap IMO. I just use them with punched, non flanged DC cartos. Works just as well.

I also tried notching out an airway on the bottom cap to mate up with the notches on the flange. Problem is that the tank roatates so easily, I wass constantly looking at it to line up the notches. Pain in the .....

If they ditched the flange it would be just fine. Other way would be to reduce the size of the flange by 50%. It is way oversized for the purpose. Non flanged punched cartos work with my DCT MAP tanks, my VPX, and the Smoktech tanks on my Precises. It was nice having a clean hole punched without unsightly dents, but what good does it do if there's no airflow.
