The only issue I see using a subtank on a mech mod is that a fully charged mech mod using the .5Ω coils would be that the coils themselves are rated for no more than 30W and most people I've found have a sweet spot around 15W-25W a fully charged battery (4.2V) in a mech mod would deliver around 35W which would decrease as the batteries charge dissipates. (which would still be around 20W @ 3.2V).

I primarily use tanks on mechanical mods - I think they're a great combination. I only use rebuildables and don't have any experience with these new sub-ohm tanks or Kanger products, but there's no reason why you can't use them. Heck, I used to use cartomizer tanks on mechanical mods before I got into RBAs. The only concern that I can think of, aside from making sure that your battery can handle the resistance of your coil, is making sure that the atomizer's center pin protrudes enough from the 510 connection if using it on a mod with a hybrid connection, but this pertains to any type of atomizer, not just tanks.

Just get a mechanical that has a center pin in the top cap, and you can use anything you want.
There is no difference between a .5 ohm coil in a tank & a .5 ohm coil in a RDA. Folks have been using sub ohm coils on mechanicals for a long time now.

OH-and, I won't even let you stand near me if you're using a mechanical with a hybrid top cap!

This is my favorite tank-mech combo. It takes the Simple to a whole other level. The sig and fogger are just there to show size, this thing is hardly bigger then an ego, but with .4 coils it chucks. I like it for a number of reasons, size being first, it is small. It fits in a pocket no prob. Second, it 2.5m of juice means I`m not locked into a juice long enough for me to get tired of it, and it fills easily with the very bottom of a bottle that otherwise wont fill a bigger tank. Third, the tank size matches the battery (VTC4) mah perfectly, by the time the tank is MT, the battery is at 3.7v. Forth, its just so darned simple, and simple is sexy to me.

I would recommend you not use a clearomizer (and any tank without an adjustable center pin) on a hybrid top cap mech mod (if one of your mechanicals has one). Even though it may work right now, over time the battery can become dented and/or the pin can get pushed up.

People have been using tanks on mechs for years.
Mechs were around before manufacturers started making kick modules for them.
Then manufacturers started making regulated mods so like having a kick module built in, plus a screen.

As for using the fakehybrid mods, there's no real reason to use them. I don't know the fu chai, but the akuma isn't one of those fakehybrid mods, so there's no reason for the topic to divert there.
