So, I've finally experienced the dreaded ProTank II gurgle, immediately followed by a mouthful of juice. Yuck! I imagine it's a coil issue as I've never had this problem before. However, I'd like your recommendations of tanks you all swear by. I'm a Kanger guy as I use the ProTank II and the AeroTank, exclusively. I'm willing to branch out. Thanks, in advance!

hate gurgling?? consider looking into the RSST. When set up with cotton/silica wicking and a micro coil, it is very nice, no gurgles and a fair amount of vapor...

They look better than the protank mini. Have to give them a try.
RGM2 Bottom Coil Clearomizer (2.0mL) glass tank / 2.2ohm & Smok Tech Aro Pyrex (2.5mL) / 2.7ohm I suggest Ready X wick, at $8.00 a foot it may seem expense but is well worth it. My RGM2 has a cheaper "stock" ceramic wick that has not been temprature treated, it still does well but a few times have experienced a mildly unpleasant "ugh" hit or two. Usually, I have "flooded" the wick, quick cleaning w/ paper towel and replacing into tank clears that up. Not had such hits on the Aro w/ Ready X. Consider myself a really moderate vaper so far. Though I may start hitting around 2mL a day vaping after doing some reading in ECF's library.
Probably one of the best changeable coil head atty's is the Aspire Nautilus. I went from a PT to the Russian rba tank system. Since then I have given away all my pt's and ego's and focus solely on re-buildable atomizers and apv's.

Im glad to hear these Aspire BDCs work well for you guys, I have NOT had the same experience. They work great when they work, when they dont (which is often ) and I have 4 of them, they get that cucky/burnt taste and dont let them get to low on juice or they leak like a siv.
I've been using evods for about a year now, but I still cannot recommend it. the ce4's I used a while back had flavor issues. The evods have much better flavors but are totally fussy. Same I hear from the protanks.
So these days I stick to mainly RDA's, when I don't need a tank. I have a kayfun clone coming. We'll see how that turns out.

Sorry you got juiced on the protank 2. I am a Kanger Guy all the way...I've found....that thou Kanger has great tanks their coils suck badly....So I rebuild them myself. My fav is a Protank 3 with an Aerotank control base. I have the dual coil housing That I rebuild as a single coil on 3.0mm high-temp silica or cotton an no flavor wick...
It does not gurgle or give me juice in mouth...secret to not geting juice in mouth is making sure your coil housing is in the base tight and then tight to tank...the silicone seals will do there work.
also if you open and close the tank alot then you will need to loosen the coil housing clean the seal to base area as they can leak there and be sucked up there.
Also it may be the top seal/flavor wick area is leaking up the tub b/c you are drawing to hard to get air. this over draw can also be fixed by the aerobase.

I love my aerotank but it gives me the same issue from time to time and sometimes my airflow control ring gets stuck and is a bish to get free.
Get a nautilus aspire, i got one recently and its in another league way more taste and much wider airflow range, the 4 settings are all spot on

Yet to find the perfect tank. Spent some bucks trying. This includes EVODs, pro tank 2 and mini 2, nautilus, CE's galore, cartomizer tanks - plenty more I've forgotten.
It was very easy to find lots of leakers - through 510/ego connector - wet/dry hits - flooding and spiting.
Presently using - subject to change without notice- small chambered RDAs and kayfun 3.1 and kayfun lite RTAs.
To me dual coils or more coils in a small area are a waste of time and money. Single coil works best for me - others experiences do and will vary.

While cleaning my tanks tonight, I may have foud the root of my problem. No seal O-ring on the bottom insert that holds the glass snug. No wonder juice was leaking! Im ordering some to see if that fixes the gurgling/leaking issue.
Also, a friend let me borrow his Aspire BDC. He doesn't like it but I don't think it's half bad. They have a good system for keeping juice away from the air flow area.
