So I've been vaping for 3 months now and love it. Only problem is, maybe my taste buds are burnt out because I can barely taste any of my e juices. Im starting to think maybe I just have too high of standards for e juice in general. I always see fanboys raving about a certain juice and saying its soooooo good you wanna slap yo momma but when i try it, its just whatever. The only thing I've atually really like was BWB's Honey Flu Nut and even that the taste is VERY faint. Whats going on?

May be the nic count is biting you. It seems that when I use higher nic counts much the flavor fades. IMO. Colds, allergies and flu will affect taste and smell both I know from personal experience. If you use Cinnamon, Clove or Wintergreen they can dull the sense of taste. Those oils have been used for years to dull tooth pain. So if you use flavors you can dull your taste buds that way. If they are made from the natural oils.

Try rotating your flavors. I tried chain vaping my flavors and after some time, the flavor kinda dies out. But if you rotate your liquids, they tend to retain their usual flavor in your taste buds. To bring back the taste of my fruity liquids, I vape tobacco flavored ones for some time then vape it again. That works for me. Hope it works for you too. Happy vaping! :)

There are way too many variables in vaping (in my opinion) that affect the final flavor you get even using identical setups. Just yesterday I was testing a new build (DIY) and my juice seemed to taste nothing like it had the day before when I made it. It tasted so wrong I was convinced my juice had somehow been contaminated. Come to find out, the toothpaste brand I had chosen (my regular one was sold out) *completely* changed my perception of juice taste 5 hours after I had brushed my teeth! :)

Drink stuff, and lots of it. The pg and vg condenses on your tongue and the inside of your mouth while vaping, coating your tastebuds. Keep some water handy and swish some around in your mouth now and again before swallowing it. Also, remember that pg/vg dehydrates your mucous membranes. Another reason to keep hydrated while vaping!:toast:

Yea i usually try to stay hydrated. For instance, bobas bounty...When i first got it it was OK. I put it in a brand new cart and it was decent. I tasted the waffles. But after a while the flavor started disappearing. And now, I use it in a cisco lr306 atty because I heard it was the bomb, I can barely taste anything. I've tried different juices in the atomizer to see if it was just bobas that I got used to and they all kinda suck, except for fruit flavors which are a little sweeter. Bobas, casablanca, hype, all taste like ....... I always hear people saying they tried this juice or that juice and they explain it as "it's like eating ______ or biting into a ______". I've never had that experience. My taste buds are either fried for life from all the cigarette smoking ive done or my expectations from flavors are too high after reading thousand of reviews from fanboys...

I smoked for 35 years before quitting and switching to vaping. It takes a long time for the senses of smell and taste to return. I noticed quite an improvement after three months. Now, after seven months I'm still noticing improvement. I notice the smell of things I haven't experienced for years and it happens almost every few days.

I vape unflavored juice. I could hardly taste it at all in July. Now I know that unflavored juice has quite a unique taste (which I like).

As mentioned by others: a lot of factors affect the taste of vapor. Some pin it on the atomizing device. The consensus from everything I've read here is that dripping produces the most flavor followed by cartos with everything else coming in last place. High percentage VG juices require more flavoring than high percentage PG juices.

All of the suggestions by the previous posters are very sound. I might add another. Try exhaling some vapor through your nose.

Our sense of taste is closely related to our sense of smell. You can understand this concept better if you recall how your food and drink seem to lack flavor when you have head cold or nasal stuffiness. So help out your taste buds by allowing your nose to "taste" the vapor.

I experienced the same a month or so ago. I've read elsewhere that this might be part of the process of taste buds coming back to life. It seems in this process the taste comes and goes and then comes again. On top of that i had a serious cold. After a week or so the cold was gone and my taste buds alive.
So far they didn't let me down again after that experience :)

Idk if its been said yet, but often times ur taste buds go on a vacation. Its comonly called vapors tongue. It no worries. It happens. Try drinking more water, changing out your juice flavor more often. And this one honestly worked for me, brush your teeth more often. I know it sounds odd, but cleanin out your mouth often helps a lot. Give it try at least. The drinkin more water also helps as when we vape it actually dehydrates you. For your mouth to work right, it needs water. I found this n more out on ec blends website under the vaper tongue link. Herea a link:

Hope this helps.
